Cask @ The Dragon, Nottingham. Near black with a light-brown creamy head. Floral-heavy stout, quite bushy in this respect. Some roasted malt is available but is infused with the aforementioned. Feels weaker than its strength.

8/10/2021. Cask at the 43rd Bedford Beer and Cider Festival. Pours black with a small frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma of ash, chocolate, roasted malt, coffee. Moderate sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Moderate body, slight creamy texture, soft to flat carbonation. A fair enough stout.

19th July 2021; Shrewsbury Beer Share in Chez Sophie, five of us splitting 16 different beers, t'was a good night! Thanks Simon for the 500ml bottle of this: BB 31st Dec 2021. Beige topping on a black body, Stouty looking in fact. It was fine, but surrounded by some pretty impressive beers this didn't reach their heights and seem almost bland and uninteresting, which I'm sure it isn't on a normal day. Malty, carrying some light coffee and chocolate traces in both the nose and taste.

500ml bottle @ Free-Dumb tasting, Chez Sophie, July 21. Thanks Simon for this. Pours black with a medium beige head. Aroma presents light roast, malt. Moderately roasty to taste, seems a little thin-bodied, dry finish. Not silky, rich or hearty and not really hitting the high notes for a bottled stout, but fine overall.

Cask at Flowerpot, Derby. Pours almost black with a scummy beige head and good lacing. It has a smoky aroma with traces of coffee and vanilla too. Bitter coffee and liquorice are the main flavours in the mouth, but there are also roasted malts and a distinct yeasty Marmite taste as well. Finish has dark fruits just to confuse the issue. Overall rather nice if a bit unusual.

Gravity cask atvthe Moonface Brewery & Tap, Loughborough. Dark brown, almost black with a very loose beige head. Smoky aroma, notes of gravy, bitter dark chocolate and some charcoal. Taste a savoury, lots of yeast extract and meaty flavours. Light notes of plum in the finish. Light body, carbonation soft to nil. I've been on the fence with other Lenton Lane beers but this is amazing.
