Cask at Flying Horse, Gatwick South Terminal. It pours lightly hazy golden amber with a small, fine white head. The nose is brioche, toast, digestive biscuit, pine and citrus peel. The taste is bitter, pine needles, resin, grapefruit, lemon peel and some astringency with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Nice level of bitterness and rather quaffable. Who would have thought the Wadworth brewkit was up to this???

Collaboration brew for Wetherspoons pub chain. Hand-pulled pint before my flight from Liverpool John Lennon Airport in The Argosy Bar on 16th Jan 2014. Golden, clear body with a good white head that gave a lot of lacing. Hoppy and bitter with a dry finish, spruce feel to the aroma and taste. Hints of citrus almost ruined it for me, but they were only hints and not full on ’toilet duck’ flavour. Pleasant and easy to drink.

Cask at Moon and Sixpence, Wetherspoons in Hatch End. A golden coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus aroma. Tastes similar, hoppy, citrus fruit, slightly bitter, some pine. Refreshing APA.

Cask at the moon under water jdw Watford. Nice fresh citrus citra hop aroma. Some mineral and clean cal ale ferment exhibited in the nose. Clear golden colour with a creamy steadfast white head and loads of sticky lace. Flavour is clean base malt with some nuttyneas. Hops are lemon and grassy. Some staling oxidation character so maybe not the freshest cask. Very tasty beer. Did not begrudge getting a pint of this sucker.

Cask at Baxter’s Court, JDW - Hackney, London. Baxter, you my only friend. Pours clear gold with a frothy white head. Nice, restrained citrus nose, some orange and tangerine. Light to medium swet flavor with pale bread, biscuits, hay, moderate juicy citrus and a bit of orange rind. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Good condition. Lightly resinous to finish with mellow pale bread sugars, orange meringue, light rind, toasty grass. Good effort.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Amber with a thin cream head; aroma of orchard fruits; thick, rich and fruity in the mouth with oranges and grapefruits as well as apples and pears; the finish is dry and biscuity with a long lasting grapefruit bitterness. Good stuff.
