The first pint on a Saturday Shropshire Pub journey (8 pubs): 11th Jan 2014. Hand-pulled into a UK sleeve glass in The Harp, Albrighton. Pale amber body with a staying white crown. I couldn’t pin down the aroma or taste to any one thing: it was maltier in the nose than in the flavour and I thought I detected a hint of wintery spices in both the smell and taste. Good body depth and I liked the taste, even if I can’t describe it very well! One of the better UK Christmas beers I’ve had this winter.

Cask handpull at The Wellington, Birmingham. Gold, with lasting thin off white head. Some citrus hop aroma. Quite tart in mouth with more citrus hops coming in on end. Strength isn’t overly evident, bit of sweet alcohol maybe. But very drinkable.
