This very special beer specialty is named after its origin, because our brewery is located directly at the foot of the famous pilgrimage site "Maria Ehrenberg" in the Rhön region.

The ''Pilgerstoff'' matures in our cold beer cellars into a full-bodied and perfectly rounded masterpiece for at least 8 weeks. It presents itself in a clear dark amber colour, strong roasted malt flavors and a velvety soft foam crown.

500ml bottle from our trip to Frankfurt. Nice deep autumnal amber colour with a large, pillowy off-white head. Nutty leafy tangents with a nestled Vienna malt sweetness. Fits the mood.

Bottle shared, purchased from yok-yok. Nicely balanced caramely bready biscuity notes are present both in aroma and taste, combined with slightly grassy, herbal hops and a moderate bitterness. I actually dig this pretty much.

Bottle picked up from Sulzberger Bierhaus, Pffafenhofen an der Ilm and consumed at home Monday 15th August 2022. Pours dark amber, good clarity, an off white head. Malt forward with a nice softness, a little caramel seeps through, no hoppiness, bitterness is light, it's a nice beer.

Good, stable, dense and ultra-fine light-cream head over Bernsteinfarbiges beer. Chestnut, hazelnuts, sweet bread, autumn leaves. Chestnut, sweet dark bread, sweet malts. Bit of liquorice, sweetroot, toast. Finish sports some dry chocolate. Not very carbonated, not very well-bodied, quite slick. Vienna, if a tad too much towards the sweet side. Thx to Stef!

Bottle from HoTM. It pours clear brown with a decent beige head. The aroma is earthy, leafy, brown bread, raisin bread, light caramel, doughy, toasted brown sugars and malt loaf. The taste is initially dry, toothy, doughy brown bread, earthy, light toffee/caramel, dried fruits, fruit cake, touch to spice, rivita and pencil shavings with a fulsome, sweet finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice bitter - sweet balance. Drinks well. Decent stuff.

Bottle, online from The Trembling Madness. Pours clear amber with a frothy beige head. Aroma: caramel, bread, dark fruit. Taste: light sweet & bitter, toasted malts, more caramel & bread. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Real tasty for the style.

Bottle from The Trembling Madness. Pours a clear copper colour with a large thick creamy off-white head. Nice looking beer. Aromas of caramel, nuts, toasty brown bread and a touch of dark fruit. . Taste has more of the same notes with a hint of roast, a touch of sweetness and a mild hop on the finish. Medium to full body, average carbonation and fairly smooth mouthfeel. Good conditioning all the way down the glass. Not very familiar with the style so can’t really compare but a nice beer anyway.

12th October 2021. 50cl bottle (BB 5th May 2022), drank in my Berlin hotel room. Clear golden orange pour, off white head. Light malty nose with a nutty bread leaning. Taste is also malt forward and again slightly nutty and bready in nature. Decent for a cheap supermarket brew.
