Enjoy this dry farmhouse beer with floral hop aroma, delicate bitterness, and a light biscuit malt undertone. Beautifully complex as a young beer to drink fresh or as time marches on look for more rustic barnyard depths of grass and leather bringing further complexity with age. De Garde translates as ‘to store’ but for how long is up to you.

Sample, thanks to Grumbo! Hazed amber appearance, small white head. Earthy malty herbal aroma. Continues to taste, smooth amber malt coming to prominence, A northern France Biere de Garde character actually came to mind before I checked what the beer was. Achieves it's intentions well, but lacks excitement.

Bottle from Brew Cavern, Nottingham. Lively so and so here... about one third ended up over the kitchen island. Aroma is vinous, fruity. Hazy opaque amber gold. Thick foamy white head with impressive lacing. Medium-heavy bitter with a tart citrus streak. Vinous. A touch of sherbert. Underlying hints of fruit sugar sweetness. Medium bodied. Slick. Creamy. Soft carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. I'm going to describe this as rustic because I like the word and am going to go out on a limb by suggesting that Rustic will be the Wordle tomorrow.

Bottle, picked up at the brewery. Glowing gold with a very decent pillowy, lasting, semi lacing just off white foam. Nose has sweet biscuit. Wheat. Leather. Spicy hop. Taste is leafy and bitter, with a good level of biscuity malt sweetness. Clean and crisp on the palate with rolling, foamy carbonation. Hit of leafy and spicy bitterness to finish. Very nice.
