Handpull cask at the Grainstore Tap, Oakham. Light to mid-gold and clear with a thin white head. Waxy lemon character in the aroma. Taste is bittersweet with an intense happiness taking hold mid-sip. Long dry finish, light vegetal character throughout. Pretty decent stuff, and certainly a cut above Rutland's normal offerings.

Bottle ordered from the brewery. A clear bottle - do they think they're Greene King? Aroma is grainy, earthy. Develops citrus and underlying egg. Clear copper gold. Thin frothy foamy white head. Light bitter. Sweet edged sour citrus streak - makes me think of lemonade. Malts into the finish. Light bodied. Thin if slick. Fizzy carbonation. A hoppy Golden Ale, which I guess is an IPA - English. It's alright.
