Bottle from oddbins London bridge. Served in a pint glass. Deep brown verging on black with an interesting nutty, floral hop, whoppers chocolate malt ball sweet in the aroma. Med-full bodied with a some scratchy carbonation. Chocolate syrup, hazelnut and dark chocolate in the taste. Probably the most flavorful brown ale I've ever had.  ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. A deep reddish dark brown beer, mostly clear, with a light beige head. The aroma has roasted malts, nuts, toffee and some dried fruits. Cigar and wood hints. Almost licorice-ish in the flavor with dried fruits, toffee, cigar and nuts. Full body, soft carbonation, semi-dry. Lasting finish with a roasted touch Roasted finish with toffee, dried fruits and cigar. Sort of one dimensional, but damn fine anyway. Close to wonderful actually. 140717

Bottle from Beermoth, Manchester. Clear, chestnut brown. Sticky, bubbly, off white head. Fairly subtle aroma of nutty, milk chocolate. Light, toasty malt. Taste is nutty dry. Light, milk chocolate sweet. Palate is creamy smooth. Light carbonation makes for easy drinking. Dry finish, with a little hoppy bitterness rounding things off. Lovely.
