12oz bottle listed at 13.8%. Leggy dark brown, ring of beige head. Nose has malt and coconut and molasses and licorice, booze too. Big booze. Rye barrel. Rusty Jameson booze. Flavor leads with booze and barrel. Toffee and licorice and toast. Full, sweet, boozy finish. Messy.

Black body topped by a thin cream ring. Aroma thick, inky roasted malt, plum, bourbon, and alcohol. Body slick and dense but not particularly heavy, loaded with prune and soy along with honey, charred roast, and bourbon. A bit much, but I enjoyed it.

12oz bottle, 11.4% abv, with a long code of meaningless numbers on the bottom of it, from shelf of Fenway Beer Shop, drunk 4/26/22.
Unclear ebony with lighter mahogany and auburn highlights on the very edges. Small, tan head shows moderate retention. Some spicy and alcoholic bourbon with hints of vanilla and coconut in the background, thankfully. Sweet chocolate tempered heavily by prune and alcohol dryness. Smells fine, I guess. Nothing too explosive or terribly interesting, but clean and low on oxidation and balanced on the barrel expression. Strong and alcoholic immediately. Drying prune, bitter chocolate and alcohol attack the texture and the palate and spicy bourbon barrel character aids in the dry/bitter/alcohol assault. Has a reasonably large body, but it's really no match for all the booze and barrel here. The prune-like acidity and sharp vanilla notes exacerbate. I do appreciate the lack of pastry adjuncts but yeah, this is just everything I hate about the 2000-2010 decade imperial stouts. Just no need for all this booze. Dumped most of it out. The beer world has evolved, 3 Floyds. Why won't you?

Big, thick, and oaky as hell. Unsweetened chocolate, roast, anise, molasses, and dark fruit on the front, lots of bitter coffee and dark fruit in the middle, and then the oak kicks in. Finishes with an unexpected tart streak and bourbon, with a heavy oak bitterness and lingering boozy notes. Chalky texture is a bit off. Good, not great.

2021 bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a pitch black with a finger of brown head that dissipates. Big treacle and milk chocolate aromas with some mild peat notes as it warms. Some brown sugar in there as well. More of the same on the palate...treacle, sweet chocolate, dark sugar and molasses. A bit of prune and date notes as well. Smooth with a bourbon focused finish and mild oak notes on the palate. Enjoyable.
