Once upon a time, back in November 2019, five cider-makers began an experiment to see what would happen if they each made a cider from the same apple juice.

Ross-on-Wye Cider pressed five batches of an identical blend and each was taken away by a producer to be made into a different cider.

Bottle shared in Watford - big thanks to Fergus. Pours clear yellow with a small, white foam head. Lightly sweet, lots of musty dryness, mild bitter apple peel, some funk. Light to medium bodied, soft. Dry and musty in the finish, a little dough, dried apple, low sweetness. Enjoyable.

Sample thanks to Danlo. Pours a misty golden yellow. Can't find any information online as to what Ross on Wye have done. Funky orchard cheese aroma, continuing to taste with a distinctly cheesy character.

750ml bottle from Fine Cider Co. Hazy pale orangey gold colour, some short-lived bubbles on top and aroma of light apple, dusty, cheese rind hint. Taste is tangy, apple, fruity, leathery, funky, bittersweet with drying spicy tannin. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry tannic finish. Very drinkable. The Ross on Wye wild cider yeast is definitely evident.
