Bottle from Ales by Mail. Dark gold to.light copper, very little head. Spruce, caramel and grapefruit in the aroma. Taste is more complex and pleasurable: a fruity bittersweet note with underlying sweet malt tunes slightly bitter before the finish. Floral hop on the aftertaste. A classic pale ale.

Bottle into a tulip. Bottled 7/10/15 so way past peak freshness but heavily discounted as such. A: Medium orange color with a tight finger of beige foam. Good retention and sheets of lace. S: Fragrant pithy scent with a little pine. T: Bitter pine taste. A little citrus on the finish but that’s all. Hardly any malt detected. M: Medium heft with good crispness and carbonation. Slightly chewy finish. O: Old bottle sure, but I don’t find much to recommend above many other available pale ales. OK but I wouldn’t seek it.

350 cl bottle, best by a month from now. Pours a clear amber with a short-lived white head. Smells of honey, toast and a bit of resinous and citrus hops. Very well balanced taste, sweet and a bit bitter, with notes of honey, citrus and pine. Smooth and oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation.

Bottle from Cocktails, Littleborough.. Cloudy amber with a thin head. Very hoppy and very dry in the palate, but always tasty with a very noticeable but also very drinkable citrus flavour.

12 ounce bottle. Hazy Amber color topped by a moderate rocky white head and clinging lace. Sweet malt marries floral and citrus hops in the nose. Wonderfully simple and flavorful. Sweet malt and citrus hops are perfectly balanced to produce the quintessential American Pale Ale. Nicely done.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a small white head. A big sweet malty nose. The flavor is big sweet malts, caramel, toffee, dry. Good.

On tap at Beer Authority, Manhattan, NY, April 2015. Golden color smooth white head. Classic APA aroma with American hops and light malts. Average carbonation, dry finish. Straight forward APA.

Bottle from Damian Beer and Ale. Almost clear golden to orange colour. Moderately bitter, complemented by almost moderate malty sweetness, light caramel. Moderate hops flavour, flowery, citrusy. Moderate body, moderate drinkability, light touch of burnt flavour. All in all good, but lagging behind the perfect All Day IPA.
