6 December 2018. At Dok Brewing Company. Shared with Anke. Pours hazy black with a lasting, small, foamy, dark beige head; some lacing. Inviting aroma of salted peanut, mocha, cream, coffee roast, fondant, burnt caramel, butterscotch, faint vanilla. Taste is medium malty sweet, mostly cream & milk chocolate, touch of vanilla, a bit nutty & faintly salty; light to medium roasted bitterness brings bittersweet burnt caramel, hints of fondant & mocha too. Dry, peppery hoppy finish, rather roasted, lingering burnt caramel, nuts & toast, some warming (cream) liqueur alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Nice, full taste, could have been even fuller on the palate and I would not yet consider it an 'Imperial' Milk Stout, but it's good and I'll gladly have it again.

11/XI/18 - on nitro tap during after-concert drink @ DOK Brewing Company (Gent), BB: n/a - (2018-1656)
Clear dark brown beer, big solid creamy brown to dark brown head, very stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: nice roast, quite some caramel, chocolate, little smoky, hint of sulphur, bit malty. MF: soft carbon, medium body, very smooth creamy texture. Taste: oh my, this is super chocolatey! Caramel, some mocha, coffee touch, nice bitterness, sweet notes, oh this is good! Aftertaste: sweet, lots of caramel, dark chocolate, nice bitterness, soft roast, good stuff! Not getting the salt, but I don't really mind.

Strong milk stout with salted caramel, nitro-tapped at Dok Brewing Company, Ghent. Thick, plastery lacing, pale beige, very dense and creamy 'nitro head' over a black beer with thin hazy mahogany edges. Aroma of lots of caramel candy though not necessarily salted, toasted walnuts, cappuccino, melting mocha ice cream, stewed bayleaf, black 'fondant' chocolate, leather, coffee cream, dry pipe tobacco. Sweet onset, candied figs, dried prunes, immediately very nutty, softish carb, thick and full, creamy mouthfeel; walnutty and toffeeish malt body with (black) chocolatey edge ending with unmistakable, coffeeish roasted bitterness enhanced by a spicy hop 'kick' well-embedded in the malts; spicy finish with lots of warming, gin-like, eventually even slightly astringent alcohol. The salted aspect remains understated and could have been more pronounced for me, but otherwise an unexpectedly successful stout, probably among this brew pub's best achievements so far.

Nitro tap at dok. Pours black, creamy white head. Smell is tad lactose. Taste is full, creamy ( nitro) some lactose. Caramel is recognizable. Salt is hidden. Easy drinker and very nice indeed.
