12 oz can. Aroma is nutty, chocolate, coffee, wet stone, halitosis. Pours black with a thin tan head that collapses into a ring quickly. Taste is sweet and roasty with a light to moderate bitterness. Lots of coffee, chocolate and nutty notes. Tastes better than it smells, although it doesn't really smell horrible or anything. It's a good beer overall, I'd say.

29 December 2019. At Dok Brewing Company. Shared with Anke! Pours hazy black with a lasting, thin, beige head; little lacing. Aroma of cream, vanilla, mocha, roasted peanut, milk chocolate, pistachio, hazelnut, chocolate with raspberry (don't know why I got that impression). Taste is light to medium malty sweet, quite creamy, apparent milk, milk chocolate, sweetish mocha; light roasted bitter then, toasty with some coffee, fondant, nutty edge too but cream is dominant all the way. Dryish, bit herbal hoppy finish, lingering cream, mocha & chocolate. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Not the most complex of Sweet Stouts but very supple.

American coffee stout, tasted from tap at Dok Brewing Company. Pale greyish beige, mousy, thick, opening head lacing in shreds over a jet black beer with a thin mahogany edge. Aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, espresso, black chocolate, dried dates, cappuccino, pecan nut pie, bayleaf, moist toast, candied fig, cigar ashes. Sweetish onset, figs and dates, old raisins, light sourish undertone, medium carb, oily mouthfeel; deeply nutty malt base, creamy and smooth due to the milk sugar which also keeps the bitter-chocolatey effect a bit at bay, with retronasal coffee or indeed 'mocha' effect more than actual roasted coffee bitterness, some citrus peel hoppiness too, remaining sweetish, slick and coffee-flavoured but never becoming outspokenly roasted bitter. Slick and smooth coffee stout, quite easygoing but very well made.

Tap at dok. Pours black, small tanned ring of foam. Smell is mil, some lactose perhaps. Taste is medium full, roasty, caramel, mild ashy, lactose. Creamy. Tad bitter. Nice. Of course not of the same craze as their imperial stout, but still. Lovely drinkin beer.

Pour is a black with a large tan head. Aroma is plenty of coffee and some roasted nuts. Flavor is more of a creamy sweetness with some chocolate and a bit of coffee. For intense as the coffee is in the aroma it loses a bit in the flavor. This is still a nice sweet and malty stout with just enough bitter bakes chocolate to rescue it.

Nitro at Cap Tap. Pours dark brn/blk with a creamy dark tan head. Aroma is mild coffee over some toasted/burnt malt. Med minus body. Flavor matches aroma, but they aren’t super strong. Nice, but not really exciting. Decent stuff.

On tap at the Trappist. It pours black with a light brown head. The aroma has chocolate and coffee with a strong bready backbone. The flavor is coffee forward with nice notes of chocolate and bread. Very drinkable and well balanced flavor profile. The body is very silky, with the milk sugar coming through more in the mouthfeel than sweetness. Full bodied, but not heavy. Really nice.
