440ml can bought at the Offie, Leicester and drunk at home. Incredibly dark brown, completely opaque, a ring of khaki head and lots of lacing. Roasted malts are overlaid with sharp piney hops in the aroma. Bittersweet taste with chocolate to the fore and a fairly extreme hoppy bitterness in the long finish. Syrupy body, carbonation on the low side. Quite something.

On tap at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours almost black with minimal cream head and good lacing. The aroma is mainly malts but with various spicy hints. In the mouth chocolate hits the taste buds first, followed by roasted malts and dried fruits. Hints of coffee and general bitterness come later. Quite nice, but not a world beater.

Panda 🐼 at home thanks to Colin. A dark black brown coloured pour with a lasting light tan head. Aroma is nice, sticky pine, sap, diesel, singed pine, ashy roast. Black ipa vibes. Flavour is composed of earthy roast, farmyard, spicy pine, light ash, singed. Palate is semi sweet, hishish carbonation, Nice.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 15/01/22. Black with a good sized tan head that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is dark malts, coffee, light black peppery spice, roasted notes, cocoa powder, dried fruit rinds. Taste comprises charr, roast malts, ashen tones, dark fruit rinds, cocoa sprinkle, coffee bean. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close. Solid on point and flavoursome stout.

440ml can Sophie's Beer Store. Pours pitch black, beige head. Roasted malt appearing in the aroma. Taste builds on this with bitter high cocoa dark chocolate, mild espresso, subtle Centennial in the background. Nicely presented, medium bodied stout. Very enjoyable.

440ml can. Pours black with a good sized tan head. Aroma of roast malts, dark chocolate. Taste is very roasty, coffee like, dark chocolate, a little caramel, dry bitter roasty finish. Medium bodied. Lovely old classic adjunct-free stout.
