Cask, George Inn, Southwark. Darkish brown colour with a medium beige head. Aroma vaguely floral with some malt and hop. Flavour is more malt with a woody tinge. Dry bitter finish. Acceptable, which the gross office block that blights the exterior of the George is not.

[6/2/2008 - on draught at the County Arms, Reading] Hint of red fruits, a bit of oakiness, but really just a very average beer. Easy to drink, but a nasty metallic astringent aftertaste - just like GK Ruddles County. Not good - do GK muck up all the beers they take over? [re-rate 26/6/2010, on cask at the Sherlock Holmes, Charing Cross, London, rebadged as "Sherlock Holmes Ale"> Bit of caramel, a little fruit, some mineral bitterness. Dull.

As George Inn Ale at the George on March 30, 2007. Nice amber color with a ferocious white head. Starts peachy, a little malt follows, and the finish is rather dry and nicely bitter.

500ml bottle from Morrisons. Amber clear colour with disappearing beige head. Lots of candy sugar on aroma with some faint hop. Bit of yeast. It’s a dullish bitter in the mouth with poor pasteurised flavours. Some yeast flavour. Very faint hop presence on end. Bit of toast.

500ml bottle from Morrisons. Gold with a white head, heavily carbonated; grassy hop aroma; caramel malt flavours with more grassy hop; underwhelming dry finish. Refreshing, but boring.

Cask at The george Inn, Southwark, London as The George Inn Ale.
Amber coloured, medium sized pale beige head. Malty, hoppy and flowery aroma with notes of something that remindes me on fish??? Dry finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Elephant & Castle, Amwell, Herts May 2006. Forgettable copper bitter. Fruity flavour and aroma, with not much of a finish. Inoffensive but bland.
