After the amazing response to our 5th Anniversary DDH Pale Ale, we have decided to continue brewing the style. DDH Pale Ale - Number Two is hopped with Citra, Summit, Ekuanot, Loral and Mosaic in double the quantities we would normally use. The result is an intense burst of pineapple, mango and slight citrus bitterness with effortless drinkability.

Can from the brewery in Bermondsey and drunk at home. Hazy orange amber colour lasting white head. Big hoppy delicious aroma. Pineapple, mango, tangerine, grapefruit aroma. Big hoppy wet hop flowers in the mouth. No dank at all, just a lot of wet hop flowers. Like you took hop flowers and dunked them into the beer. Which means it's moderate bitterness on the finish. More orange, tangerine pineapple flavours towards the end. It's fine if damp rather than dank.

Can from BBNo - thanks to Fergus for the pick up! It pours cloudy golden with an orange hue and medium foamy white head. The aroma is fresh, bright, juicy, pineapple, mango, apricot, papaya, peach and brioche. The taste is crisp, dry, good deal of bitterness, bright, pineapple, pithy, zesty, some greenness, grass, tangerine, mango, guava and light spice with a drying finish. Medium body a fine, prickly carbonation. Fresh, fruity and chuggable. Tasty stuff.

500ml can. Pours murky golden with a dissipating white head. Aroma of juicy citrus fruits, mango, pineapple, grapefruit. Taste is exactly the same, very juicy, tropical, citrus, grapefruit, pineapple, low bitterness. Light-medium bodied, really smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Great stuff, similar to the 5th Anniversary one but even better.

Can. Turnerโs, Sheffield. Fully hazy, pale, amber gold. Thin, lasting, lacing, messy, white head. Nose has fleshy melon. Grapefruit. Some peach stone. Pineapple cube sweets. Lightest flicker if vanilla malts. Taste is pineapple juice sweet, turning pithy, fleshy, grapefruit bitter. Clean mouthfeel. Ridiculous drinkability here. Itโs like fruit juice, but with fizz. Juice and citrus pulp to finish. Fantastic pale ale.

Keg at HL1, 09/02/18. Murky orange with a decent egg shell white cap. Nose is dank hop exhaust, pine resin, orange pith, soft brioche, apricot jam, mango. Taste comprises grapefruit zest, pineapple tang, pine needle, toasted grains, airy malts, cantaloupe melon. Mediumbodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close splashed with juicy come danko hop bitterness. Solid hop shizzle.

500ml can @ Chez Sophie one week after canning date. Pours an unclear orange, with a modest white head. Aroma has soft exotics of a mango / apricot persuasion. Taste is smooth, fresh, light with good exotics, grapefruit, pineapple, apricot.. thankfully not as full and smoothie-like as other such DIPAs, and alongside its ABV suits the large can size well with a good, balanced drinkability. Yeah, forget the others BBNO have this style nailed.
