500 ml bottle, shared by Werckmeister, thanks! Dark ruby body, with almost no head. Aroma of sherry, dried fruits, chocolate, cocoa, sweet wine. Tastes quite similar, with more vinous notes. Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a low carbonation. Finishes sweet, medium vinous, subtly roasty, fruity, warm, with dried fruits, sherry. Very nice. Pretty heavy, with a rich mix of fruity, vinous and malty notes. More on the sweet side, but really well balanced. Great Barley Wine, typical to Italy, luxurious and thick. Score 7 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 16

0,5l bottle at home shared by me. dark brown color, no head. smells of dried fruits, raisins, figs, vanilla, some sweetness, wood, very nice smell. full body, no carbonation. tastes of wood, raisins, figs, earthy, vanilla, peppery, light grapes, sherry. finishes lightly boozy with notes of raisins, figs and earthy notes. very nice one, a bit on the boozy side, gets quite a bit better once it warms up.

At Baladin Milano. Pours very dark, reddish brown. Smell is full, oxidized, wood, raisins, very complex. Not as boozy as the 2014 version. Much more depth and maltyness. Taste is slick, intense, raisins, oak, vanilla, dense, much maltyness as well. Very well-aged, or simply a much better brew than the 2014 ? Or both? Whatever the cause, the beer is truly amazing.

Bottle at Baladin Milano. Pours clear, deep red to amber. No head, as to be expected. Smell is full-on red wine. Tad sweet, some booze of course. Taste is full, red wine, grapes, musty. Bit sharp. Not as slick of a mouthfeel as other Baladin Barleywines. Just a bit of sparkle. Very decent offering, but way to much on the wine for me.

Bottle courtesy of Francesco, grazie mille! Shared with Franco and Sandy for New Years 2018. Clear deep amber color scant head. Nice aroma of raisins, dates, charred caramel. Taste has mixed dark fruit, rich vinous caramel. Delicious.
