This quintessential English-style Old Ale is a masterpiece, with each sip being a delicious new experience. With an abundance of select maple syrup added, and then aging on gourmet coffee beans, Den Haag awakens to an even more complex, interesting and satisfying flavor profile. Still aged in rare, sought after Bourbon barrels, and this time with ex-Bourbon Maple Syrup barrels(!),

Can from Beer Republic webshop Nr Breda, Netherlands and consumed at Monelllo Apartments, Bamberg Thursday 24th March 2022 listening to Gideon Coe on 6 Music. Pours dark brown, not too much of a head, oh my this is a beast, the coffee and maple syrup, it's like if you were flatlining you could have a shot of adrenaline or this and if it's this woah...... that's you up and at it for the day, christ on a bike 😂 It's a great beer btw a little boozy but great.

375ml can from Tavour. Dark brown, oily, flat pour. Sweet malty aroma with notes of maple and coffee. Maple takes front and center in the taste, sweet maltiness, hint of coffee. Quite boozy too. A bit sticky.

8.45 oz can at 16.65% from Tavour. Pours clear dark amber/brown with a slight, transient tan head. Aroma of good, strong coffee and some heat. Quite full bodied. Flavor is burnt malt, chocolate, heat and maple syrup towards the end. Some wood seems to surface. Bourbon is hard to find under the maple syrup, but it's there. Exquisite.

Can. Clear deep amber beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Palate is pretty light for a beer pushing 17% bit there is some compensating alcohol spice and heat. Taste is about what you might expect from a beer like this. Rich Coffee liqueur that has been generously drizzled in maple syrup. Trace of vanilla. Light finish. No surprises here, no hidden depths. Just delivers what it says on the can.
