Bottle chared with Chris and Hawk - Black with a brown head - Dark malt, wood, vanilla and some fruity tones - Dark malt body with wood, vanilla, some apple flavour and some other fruity tones as well - The dark malt, wood and some vanilla goes into the finish - This was real good

0,1l from tap at Craft Bier Fest. black color, small coffee colored head. smells wood, bourbon, some cinnamon, cocoa, earthy. very nice smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, cinnamon, licorice, cocoa, wood, brandy. finishes lightly roasty with notes of wood, cinnamon and cocoa notes. very nice one, very smooth and good to drink. 8, 4, 9, 3, 17

Aroma of barrel, brandy, some booze, melting chocolate, molasses, liquorice, some soy sauce
Tastes similar, very lovely, with more smooth sweet notes.
Full, creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes medium roasty, medium dry, wooden, warm, with tobacco, cocoa, coffee, some brandy.
Very tasty. Especially the taste is amazing, smooth, with a lovely, creamy balanced. Very characterful, accomplished sipper.

Pours black with a large head. Aroma is roasted malt, licorice, chocolate and soy sauce. Smooth taste of roasted malt, honey, chocolate and some apple. Dry oak and alcohol finish.

Sample from bottle at SBWF 2017. Black with a small head. Aroma of roasted malt, oak, cocoa and dark chocolate. The same in the taste, also some hints of dark fruit. Sweetish with a long finish.

Aus der Flasche die Version 2016 (Sapphire Wax) im 2017-10 getrunken. Bei diesen Schwegewicht ist hinter den kräftigen Röstaromen eine feine Fruchtnote. Ansonsten ist es auf dem hohen Nivau recht unauffällig.

22 oz. bottle. Pitch black color, fast dying head. Nose is big roast, chocolate, cocoa, oak.Taste is dominated by roast, chocolate, cocoa, molasses. Oak is here, alcohol here. I get no Apple Brandy whatsoever. After spending damn near $30.00 on this bottle I expect the barrel, not here.

Thanks AFH for sharing this beer! AFH for bringing that bomber out. thanks d00d. This one is completely pitch black, looks nice with a finger of coffee colored head. Great aroma. smells sweet and delicious. bits of maple and cigarettes and wood. Dense and soft carbonation. apple brandy? I guess. it's certainly liquor forward..not sure about the apple. cocoa, espresso and chocolate and candy. tasty beer!
