Can shared at Csakajó. Deep brown pour, off-white head. Nose is cane sugar, sweet booze, some nuts. Taste is sweet notes of nuts, booze and dried fruits with a woody touch. Medium to heavy sticky body, soft carbonation. Tasty.

Can from Kisjes Slijterijen, Meppel. Lots of boozy rum in the aroma with raisins, syrup, molasses, caramel, oak, dark malt, alcohol. Sweet, bit sharp. Medium to full body. Nice rum character, lacks some smoothness, it's fairly sharp. Nice.

Dark amber, bit of off-white head. Smell is dried fruit, malty, light rum. Nice body, light boozyness at the finish. Tastes good, very well balanced between raisiny barleywine and slightly herbal sweet rum. Some wood, highly drinkable.

0,33l can at home. BB 12/2023. dark brown color, small yellowish head. smells vanilla, earthy, marzipan, ripe fruits, figs, raisins, nutty, spices, some rum barrel notes. nice to very nice smell. full body, light carbonation. tastes earthy, peppery, vanilla, ripe fruits, molasses, bit leathery, peppery, some booze. finishes with an bitter alcohol burn and notes of vanilla, figs and rummy notes. decent one, but also rather boozy, finish was quite alcoholic at first, but gets better once it warms up. also balance isnt the greatest. drinkable but I had quite a few better ones from Kees.

33cl can de Malt Attacks, BB 03/2022.

33cl can from Etre Gourmet web shop. F: huge, pale tanned, long lasting. C: dark brown, hazy. A: caramel, toffee, rum, bit woody, spicy, mellow fruity. T: full malty base, caramel, toffee, leaves, dried fruits, nutty, vinous, soft carbonation, nice yet not great complex sipper, enjoyed very well.

Can at home sourced from Beerdome - very dark brown pour with a nice beige head. Toasted and sweet malty with a plethora of dark dried fruit shred, some sweet caramel and toffee notes, singed brown sugar, medium plus body, some nice spices and rum soaked wooden accents into the warming boozy malty close. Very nice.

One of now countless variations on this theme, a barleywine aged on rum barrels, from a can bought at Etre Gourmet. Initially thick and mousy, dense, regularly shaped, yellowish beige head, retaining for quite a while, lightly hazy burgundy brown robe with copper-red glow. Aroma of indeed brown rum and strongly so, ground pecan nuts, toffee, gin, toasted hazelnuts, gingerbread, dry tea bags, candied cherry, wet oak wood, burnt cranberries, dry tree leaves. Sweet onset, candied figs, cranberry compote and candied cherry aspects, light sourish undertone, medium carbonated; full and vinous body, as is to be expected from the style. Rounded sweet caramelly and chestnutty maltiness quickly developing a pronounced toasted-bitter edge, which is accentuated by a firm tannic woodiness and, announced way at the start of course, a strong booziness, in the form of a glowing, eventually even wry rum effect dominating the finish, even if more refined impressions of dried fruit, toffee and ground nuts keep lingering. Very boozy and hot, a bit too much so for me - this is not the most subtle or sophisticated one in this normally highly rewarding series, but still a complex sipper regardless.
