Fare thee well Josh tasting at Bruce’s. Thanks to Leighton. Opaque black - brown beer, good pale tan - cream coloured head. Palate is airy.and light and a little soft. Good dark malts, light and airy but bringing a little roast bitterness. Light piney hops with lesser citrus backing it up. Touch of lactose cream in the malt. Finishes dry with a good deal of bitterness. Little spice.

The is raw bitterness, peppery, burnt notes, soapy, grapefruit, palate wrecking bitterness, roasted malt and toast with a bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonate. A bit raw and aggressive. Ok, but far from refined.

Bottle shared in London to celebrate Man Licker. Bottle picked up in CA. Pours clear, dark brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose has toasted pine, a bit of dry citrus rind, earth. Light sweet flavor with aggressive earthy bitterness, charred grass, hefty bitter cocoa, ash. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Abrasive bitter finish, more burnt pine, earth, minerals, toasted grass, more dried citrus rind. Meh. Pretty harsh bitterness here.

Tap @ Black Bottle. Pours a brown appearance with a nice brown head. Quite piney and herbal, caramel and brown sugar aroma. Dark fruity, fig, toffee, burnt malty, bitter piney flavor. Not my favorite. A bit watery actually.

On tap at Apex, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out roasted malt, citrus hops, and toasted bread. Flavour brings out lightly toasted malt, piney hops, and toasted bread. Really well-balanced, without any astringency or harsh roast quality. Alcohol is extremely well-hidden as well. Great stuff.
