Tap at Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fa (Rome). Chestnut skin pour, light brownish foam. Nose: dates, alcohol, spirit, wow. Mouth: hidden ABV, rough roast, sour cherry spirit. Kind of a magic touch.

Bottle picked up at Giangaspero Frutta e Verdura Genova, Italy, consumed at home Sunday 19th March 2017 whilst cooking Fish Pies and Voodoo Pizzas. Reddy brown in colour with a slim off white head. Fruity nose, some plums, dates, figs and a little toffee, most of these also in mouth with a little fruit sponge cake, bit boozy, ok. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Colin. Light haze on this amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is smooth and has low carbonation. Dry oxidised tasting caramel malts. Tangy ripe fruits. Touch or orange and lime citrus keeps it from a complete disaster but this is a tired and ripe tasting beer. 2.6

Smooth palate, slightly soft. Soft caramel. Dried fruits. Slightly tangy. Little bitterish toffee. Yeah - not turning cartwheels here but my original rating was a tad harsh.

Bottle shared in London / many thanks to Cloin. Pours unclear red-brown with a creamy topping. Musty aged and toasted bread in the nose, some brown sugar, toffee. Medium sweet flavour with lots of ripening berries, caramel, rich bread, mild bitterness. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Warming finish with nice toffee, dried fruits, berries. Pretty enjoyable.

Bottle at level 42. It pours dirty red - brown with a small yellow - beige head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, earthy, date, prune, wood, earth, jammy fig, dried fig and dirt. The taste is slick, sweet, wood, leather, sugary, dried fruits, date, prune, tannin, plum and a touch of booze with a slick finish. Medium - full body and fine carbonation. Not much depth, but not bad.

Malty, a little bit sweet, caramel and some alcohol notes in aroma. Bitterness in taste from roasted malt, caramel and with some touch of alcohol in the taste. In aftertaste bitterness from roasted malt and dark bread notes. Good stuff, but not excellent.
