Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up somewhere in the US. Pours mostly clear gold with a modest, frothy, pure white head. Has a healthy kick of acidity, some lemon, peach, grapefruit, touches of pine needles, nips of dry pale wood. Light to medium bodied with spritzy carbonation. Quenching finish, acidic and cleansing, with further citric bite, lemon in particular, suggestions of grapefruit, melon. Good fun.

Bottle from Healthy Spirits SF, bought in February 2015. Hazy dark golden with a small head. Nice aroma of grapes, brett, apples, funk and oak. Similar taste. Nicely balanced and a refreshing beer.

8th May 2015: in a flight of six at the excellent Brewhouse, San Juan Capistrano, Orange County, Amber pour with a wispy head, Cooking Apples got into my head from the sourness and I couldn’t shift that thought. Not really a sour fan but this was OK.

Muddy looking light tan. No head. Big brett nose, with vinous character, a bit of yeast obfuscating the peachy, fruity notes. Tart on the palate and vinous, but there are better products for category and price (I.e. Crooked Stave, Cascade) so in that sense to have the overly yeasty character getting in the way of what should be much brighter mosaic notes, and thus throwing off the beer’s balance is a let down, and the sort of thing that reduces the likelihood of repeat purchase.

Bottle @ home. A little murky dark orange, dull appearance with a light brown head. Aroma has some wine, dank hops, light pine, cheese, and a bit of tropical fruit. Medium light body. Lightly tart. Some cheese and Parmesan. A little flabby. Some grapes, apple, and guava. Sort of fun but not overly flavorful (3.6).

Update: tried another bottle and there was some butter / diacetyl. I’m dropping my rating a bit lower.

Tap at blind tiger. Pours unclear brown ( dark muddy amber? ) smell is sharp, slightly sour maltyness. Taste is bit sour, very aromatic big amber maltyness, making the beer sweet as well. Sugary backbone. Nice though . Very complex
