Pours very clear, light blonde. Smell is very funky and floral honey. Taste is intense honey, sweet, some booze but very well done. Honey is thick on top, not blended it completely. Mild mouthfeel. Ok mead, but nothing to great

Bottle. Thanks to fiulijn. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with no head. Has a fruity spicy slightly tart honey aroma. Sweetish spicy honey flavor. Has a sweetish spicy weak herbal honey finish.

Screwtop bottle from Weyn’s, City2 Mall, Brussels

Amber color. Strange aroma, chemicals, glue, honey, perfume, fruits. Sweet mouthfeel, not syrupy; flavor of dark honey, chestnut honey, strong fruity presence, and also quite high acidity, almost vinegar; some chemical and alcohol feeling also in the flavor; there is some light astringency in the end.
Controversial, it has nice features (acidity, fruitiness...) that would push it high, combined with flaws (chemicals and alcohol).

A nice sample courtesy of Marko, via Fiulijn, great thanks to both of them! It poured copper body with tiny legs. Very nice honey aroma. Herbal honey flavor, not too herbal like some honeys gets. Full bodied with sticky palate offers long sweet honey finish. Pretty simple, but really nice mead.

One of Alexes of course (thanks fiulijn!). Brownish/reddish amber body. Nose... rubber (shoe sole), dried figs, carob, sweet banana, slightly sourish, but dominantly sweet. Full honey taste, woody, sweet, notes of carob maybe again, vague, very vague sweet mint. Some alcohol, light, in the finish again, more warming than in the taste. I can see the relationship to the 8 Year Old. Sligthly unbalanced, but hardly bad for it, very good stuff!

Clear red-foxy amber. Very vinous, and brandy-ish, even like old brandy or Pineau des Charentes. Sweet, honey-ish smell. VERY sweet taste indeed. Honeyish character is unmistakable; vague yeasty notes, dates and dark candi sugar. Very sticky MF, slick, alcoholwarming. "Pittige" (hot) they say, but I would have liked it a bit drier. Very nice nose, however.

Brown colour. Aroma is very sweet, reminding me of dried fruit. Flavour also very sweet, not far from dessert wine, but a little spicier. I do not know the difference between sherry and port, but close to one of those.
