A strong ale, brewed with guarana, Californian poppy, kola nut and Scottish heather honey. A conspiracy of trans-continental ingredients infused with some devastatingly BrewDog imaginative thinking.

Draft. Amber beer with a huge cream colored head. Biscuitty malt aroma with some floral notes. Biscuit and light honey flavor with light floral notes and light spice. Medium body. Fairly easy to drink. Biscuit malt and light spice lingers with light honey and light floral.

Tap at Ginger Man, NYC. An interesting brew for sure. Nose is mostly sweet malts. Flavor is dynamic, with notes of caramel and honey, and other flavors Iโ€™ve never encountered in beer before, presumably the guarana, poppy and kola nut. The distinctive โ€™Scotch Aleโ€™ flavor is present, if you know what I mean. Finish is lightly sweet, a bit dry, and sticky. Unique.

Bottle: Poured a slightly hazy color amber ale with a medium foamy head with average retention and not much lacing. Aroma of weird and not common spice mix is quiet particular. Taste is also quite particular with some weird spices which I am not particularly fond of. Body is about average with average carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Weird spices and not something I would wish to try again necessarily.

Another BrewDog bottle filled precisely to the top. 650 mL bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear amber color with a medium frothy offwhite head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of tropical fruits, honey, nutty notes and an herbal finish. Taste is bitter and hoppy with notes of caramel, mango, honey, nutty notes. Medium bodied. Pretty tasty.

18th October 2008. Hazy brown beer. Unusual flavour. Bitter start - hop and nut bitterness. Leads to a late mid coca cola sweetness. A little honey on the back of the tongue. A bitterish finish. Different!

Bottle, as Speed Ball. Starting off quite ordinary, pouring a clear, golden body and a small, beige head, this beer soon reveals itโ€™s different. Peppery, hoppy nose with pinecones and caramel, but not the usual hoppy pepperyness. The flavor isnโ€™t as pronounced as the aroma, but also nice, with the same elements, and a fine peppery, bitter finish. Medium to full body. An unusual beer, but a very nice one. 090925
