2015 release, bottled, (blend of ’12/’13/’14 vintages) drunk 1/14/16.
Beautiful ruby-auburn-to-rich-amber colored body shows great clarity, leaving sediment behind. Light beige head atop shows impressive retention.
Soft acetic notes, as well as light oak toastiness rise up out of the glass and at first, I’m pretty sure I smell some oxidation. Not heavy, but it’s there. Light vanilla, interesting melanoidin and lightly smokey phenols with plentiful cherry/prune/fig fruitiness on the finish. The longer it breathes, the less noticeable the oxidation and more funky acidity emerges. No alcohol or flaw.
Tart, with black cherry, black pepper, light medicinal phenols (which actually aren’t unpleasant/unwelcome) but yet lightly sweet bread and caramel malt flavors softening the acidity and barrel tannin, providing a good balance but still leaning towards dry, which is great. Maybe a hint of the oxidation from the nose, but not problematic in any way. Tartness, breadiness and red fruits linger on the finish, with softer vanilla and caramel. Nice stuff, has blended/mellowed nicely.

Bottle thanks to JBPortland! Pours hazy orange amber with a medium tan head that dissipates fairly quickly leaving good lacing. Aroma is caramel, light smoke, oak, light funk. Flavor is light plus tart, lightly but noticeably smoky, a hint of funk, oak, lemon and grass notes. Medium body, fairly high carbonation. Interesting beer.

Pours unclear amber. Smell is bit smokey, funky. Slightly seeet and some bitterness. Taste is smoked, a bit. Bitter, with the funky grains. Meanwhile its also dry. A pretty intense beer, but its not going somewhere, really. A lot of different characters that dont really blend together...

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks Ariel. 11/12/13 blend. Murky orange-amber. Sour woody aroma with lacto, some funk, malt, fruitiness and a medicinal note. Sweetish-sourish flavor with malt, caramel, fruitiness, a lactic touch, oak and a bitterish touch. Medium-bodied, well-carbonated. Very nice.

750 ml bottle shared by Phatdog1. Blended 11-12-13. Color shows a hazy copper color with no head. Aroma is oak barrel, burnt caramel, mild white wine and Brett funk.
Flavor is rather funkadelic. Sour oak, tannins bitterness throughout the sip. The main body also presents a smokiness from what must be smoked malts. displays a mild pucker in the back of the taste buds that lingers. The smoke and funk is real interesting. I can appreciate what the brewer did with this brew but it really isn’t my thing.

8oz pour at Meridian Pint. Clear dark orange with one ring of white head. Nose has tons of Riesling, plenty of brett too, grapefruit rind, light funk, malt, dandelion, band aid. Flavor is tart and sweet, white grape, grapefruit juice, a little raisin, orange pith, chrysanthymum. Full bright, tart finish. Very well blended.
