Tap. Pours clear hazel, large creamy beige head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is tobacco, roasted malt, nutty, coffee grounds, hints of smoke. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, slight hint of acidity, hints of smoke, tobacco and cocoa. Medium body. This is complex and udervalued by craft beer dorks.

Nice rich brown coloured body with a thin lighter brown/tan head. Aroma of what else - nuts, with roasted malt, caramel and a bit of brown sugar. Medium-bodied; Strong roasty flavours throughout with nuts, nuts and more nuts in the flavour, coupled with alcohol and some caramel. Aftertaste shows some good bitter tastes, but just too much nuttiness and not enough hops or sweetness as a balance. Overall, decent, but I prefer other beers in this style and definitely other beers from the brewpub. I sampled this on draught in June 2010.

A dark reddish brown ale with a thin moka head. A nutty chocolate aroma, grainy with light burned caramel. In mouth, a good nutty malt, lightly oily mouthfeel, some good roastiness, coffee grinds, not nad. On tap at brewpub, Feb. 28 2010.
