CRANK THE HOPS to the point right before tastebuds bleed with a PNW / Aussie blend. Super smooth malt base, pine resin, bright tangerine and pineapple hop flavor and aromatics. At 105 IBU’s, “Half-Stack” is a relative term – As we like to say, “If it’s too hoppy, you’re too old!”

On draught at Tip Tap Room, 7/21/15
What is up with this brewery/my tastes?? I was pretty blown away by soulbender and this was absolutely delicious and drinkable. All I can imagine is that it isnt well-liked in the City? Idk, because this is malty but dry, with tropical fruits, light citrus and just enough bitterness. Pale, drinkable, creamy carbonation and no alcohol or flaws.
I really like these guys. If theyre, perhaps, just a touche too malty, it can be excused for not being resinous and/or astringent. Hope to meet these guys; theyre doing everything right and not really getting any love for it.
Sadly, a lot of rating is all about name, and a lot less about actual product. This site is better than any other site about that, but it’s still a huge factor. And I’m probably just as bad as the next guy, yet these guys I have no conscious bias towards/against and I think it’s just malty, dry, late-hopped, drinkable beer.7/4/8/4/16

Draught at the Publick House, 9/2/15.
Not quite as bright, juicy and crisp on the end as I remember. Still, no problems with resin here and it’s well-fermented, but just a touch of astringency from the hops and a rather dull/bland flavor that I couldnt quite put my finger on. Still would gladly drink again over many other IPAs commonly available. Rating is for this most recent sample.

Got in a BIF from beerloserLI. 500 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours hazy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity and balance of citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange peel, pine, honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and fairly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent East coast IPA style. All around great robustness, complexity, and balance of citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt malt sweetness; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle thanks to Will. Pours a hazy orange gold with small creamy white head that lasts. The aroma is strong new zealand hops and citrus. Thick mouthfeel, bitter hop bite, light dryness, tropical fruit, very good.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Tracy and Ariel. Slightly hazy golden with a white head. Lovely big hops aroma with lots of tropical fruits and citrus. Flavor has mild sweetness, fruity hops, a tart note and a bitterish finish. Medium-bodied. Very nice.

Cask @Albion. Hazy orange with large off-white creamy head, floral hops aroma, low carbonation, sweetish taste with hops flavor, full body, medium finish. Quite a mellow but enjoyable IPA.

Draft at the brewery taproom. Pours clear light gold with a creamy white head. Lovely aroma of dried, pithy citrus, orange rind, pale bread. Medium sweet flavor with moderate bitterness, some floral notes, light minerals. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced on the finish, more pithy citrus, minerals. Tasty.

Mug’s Ale House, Brooklyn tap: Pours golden orange with white head. Aroma is ctirus hops in moderate dosage with light backbone. Taste is hoppy but not intensely so. Malt backbone is not all that heavy. This was a fine IPA, but nothing all that incredible.

Tap at The Jeffrey, after splurging a little on some Cantillon it was nice to enjoy $5 pint of this brew. Pours redddish orange with huge nose of juicy grapefruit. Tastes of lots of grapefruit, some pineapple, rock candy, and hints of wood. good amount of bitter hopping. probably best thing ive had from Singlecut
