Aroma is sweet, look isn’t so bad, but it tastes like a cross between caramel syrup and alcohol. Way too much alcohol in the pallette, almost can’t taste anything else. Aftertaste of more alcohol and some slightly bitter hops.

Can from a Paris shop. Golden color with a frothy white head. Aroma suggests a bit of celery. Full bodied, almost syrupy, with soft carbonation. There’s heat, grain, light fruits, peppery spice. Rather good for a malt liquor. Doesn’t finish dry!

Can, 11.6%. Caramelly aroma, quite malty. Almost clear dark golden colour. Small stable white head. The flavour is very peppery, but there is also a good sweet maltiness. Almost burning alcohol finish with a little vegetable. OK.

Canned (from Cracked Kettle). Golden colour, mediumsized white fluffy head. Aroma is fruits and alcohol along with some slight grainy notes. Flavour is big on the malts, some slight hops with some mild metallic, alcoholic and sugary notes. Yet quite smooth for a malt liquor.

500ml can from Auchan, Calais. Oh why do I do this to myself? Am I so desperate for a rating that I will buy a beer I know I won’t like? Well, no not really, i am fascinated by european strong lagers and malt liquors. Gold colour lasting thick ivory head. Well the aroma is a bit masked by the thick head. It’s mostly sickly alcohol in the mouth. OK, yes it really is quite bad. But not everything is awful, it’s got some beery type parts. Then again the aftertaste is very alcoholic. It’s odd, the mouthfeel and some of the flavours are ok, but it really is quite poor on the finish. I can’t finish the can. Bit too strong for me and the syrupy alcohol really is quite unpleasant. But there are some decent touches. ugh.

Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, toasted, cabbage water, moderate yeasty, barnyard, light alcoholic. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20081119]

0.5 l can, courtesy of Doggythedog, thanks for sharing! It poured darker golden body with medium sized and slightly yellow head. Touch of alcohol in aroma, but it could be far worse, some malt and even lemony hops. Flavor is, again, a different story. Throughout alcoholic, some slightly metallic sweetness trying to hide that and as such quite unpleasant in its oily, thick body. Laves short aftertaste, a bit hoppy and alcoholic before all. What to say, a typical malt liquor no matter how much I had luck with those so far.

0.5l can brought from Paris by a friend (thanks a lot, Franjo!) Poured a golden body with a medium sized thick white head that wnet away at a medium pace. The nose is an assault of alcohol, maybe some malt. Nasty. Sweet taste, again an assault of alcohol which even makes it a bit bitter. Hard to drink, a bit oily, weak malt, trace hop that I might be imagining ner the end. Ugh... Grolsch Het Kanon has the same alcohol percentage and is from the same brewery but is so much better (really hope that this is not some placebo effect).
