Geuze is a classic among the Belgian Ales, following spontaneous fermentation in wooden barrels (no yeast or sugar added), young and old Lambic are blended; which results in a dry, tart and fruity wine like taste. The lambic for this brew comes from the Boon (Lembeek) brewery, according to the original recipe of Henri Vandervelden, the founder of Oud Beersel.

Flaska från Belgiuminabox. Vintage 2017. Klarguldig med liten vit krona. Funkig med fina toner av gröna äpplen, äppelkart, gröna druvor, stall, pissoartablett och fat. Funkig och ganska stram och torr. Mycket fatkaraktär och en stram syra. Gott!

Bottle. Color: Gold, white head. Taste: Nicely balanced in between moderate to medium sweet and sour notes. Slightly tart. Light to moderate bitterness. Hints of unripe berries and sour apples. Notes of wood and ageing. Dry-ish mouthfeel. Medium body, below average carbonation. Very nice Oude Geuze.

2014 bottle from Craft Brewed shared. Pours a clear honey gold color with 2 fingers of soapy foam that dissipates. Green apple, wet hay and horseblanket aromas with some faint musty peach skin and oaky sherry notes. Some light-struck skunk notes as well. On the palate, more sherry-like creaminess with great carbonation alongside pear and hay. Lingering wet hay, wood and fall fruit. Not bad, but not as complex as some other gueuzes.

37,5 cl bottle, 6,5% alcohol. Golden color, with a big white head, quite stable but disappearing after a while. Aroma is lemony, leather, wet wood. Taste is sour but more balanced than other gueuze. Dry mouthfeel. A good gueuze.

Vintage 2009. half champagne Bottle. Aged in my cellar for mor than 6 years. From Beer Mania and no in this lifetime:) Coz podobnie jak niedwno w Cantillonie ulecial dymek z rury wydechowej z pol wiecznej Syreny lub Warszawy,Barwa pomaranczowa, nie jaskrawa, spora piana, ale dosc szybko opada jak w najlepszym szampanie. korek otwarty sporo glosniej niz w Cantillonie, a dymek caly czas sie ulatnial z butelki nawet podczas nalewania niczym zgaszona swieczka z wosku pszczelego. Bardzo metne i sporo martwych i nie aktywnych juz drozdzy opadlo na dno szklanicy Lindemansa. Smakowo jest kwasek, ale mniejszy niz w Cantillonie, owocowosci tez jest wiecej, brzoskwinie sa w pelni dojrzale, troche melona i ananasa dochodzi, ale nadal to jest bezkompromisowy i bezcukrowy produkt i o to tu wlasnie chodzi. Taste: light sweet, light sour, light green apple skin funk, grapefruit, dry oaky notes. Light bodied. little carb, light spritzy mouthfeel, with a dry, light tart, citric finish

On tap at Uiltje Bar, sampler. Slightly hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of lemon, sour apples, funk, wood, light floral. Flavour is light sweet, floral, mellow sourness, wood, lemon, lemon peel, apples, funk, soft bitterness, dry, tart finish. Light bodied. Nice mellow Gueuze.
