Circling back round to where it all began, Twists is our anniversary West Coast IPA. This beer embodies everything we love about the style. Pale malts allow punchy, fresh, resinous hop character to flourish, citrus aromas jump from the glass and it sings with clean, unapologetic bitterness.

On tap at Nelson Arms Tonbridge. Hazy pale gold colour lasting white head. Pink grapefruit aroma. Resin pine aroma. Yep that's a pretty good ipa. Moderate bitterness on the finish. Grapefruit flavour. Some pine resin flavour. Yes pretty decent.

Tall can from Winerack at home. Slightly translucent light amber pour. Aroma is sweet grassy stone fruit. Some biscuit. Not that west coast seeming. Taste is pine bitter at first then apple juice and some banana and tropical fruit. Again doesn’t seem like a WCIPA at all really. Palate is a bit flat. Sort of disappointing for anniversary beer, especially compared to the anniversary stout Siren also released, Turns. Wouldn’t really recommend this. It’s fine but sort of muddled and not what I’d expect from Siren.

440ml can shared with Finn at Tromsø Mikrobryggeri. Dotted spots on the glass from a patchy white surface, hazy orange coloured body. Inviting smell of herbal hops with scent of orange fruits. Ripe fruity flavours, orange and peaches, earthy malty backbone. Mid-dry hop fruity ending, bittersweet. Pretty alright. (Tromsø 02.08.2022).

Spotty beige head on an unclear pale amber coloured body. Orange, malt & pine aroma. Medium bodied, soft on the tongue with a sharp back. Malt, pine, caramel, orange & marmalade tastes with a long bitter pithy finish. West Coast style brewed just as I like. Spot on.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours mostly clear, rich gold with a foamy, white topping. Moderately sweet, some ripening citrus, lightly faded pine. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Subtly piney finish, a hint of butyric acid, more citrus, sun-kissed malts. Decent sauce overall.

Can, 7.4%. I think it is called 9 Twists? Weak fruity aroma. Cloudy golden colour. Small white head. The flavour is fruity with a good spicy hoppiness. Good alcohol bitterness. Refreshing.
