Pours fairly dark reddish brown, some fine tan head. Smells spiced indeed, not sure with what (label your ingredients, Kees!). Body is light yet nicely creamy. Taste is odd, mix of cardemon, ginger, some cheap whisky, and some ashy toast. Just unneccesary.

BB 12/2024, Batch 19.03, 330ml can
APPEARANCE: deep dark caramel color with a lot of chestnut, cherry and ruby hues, a small ring of cappuccino color like head on sides with a few islands in the middle, nicely looking beer
AROMA: complex and rich aroma of toasted sugars, dried fruits and spicy notes underneath; loads of dark caramel candy, brown sugar, butterscotch, sweet bread, toast with jam, bread crust, raisins, figs, prunes, stewed apples, hints of sweet chocolate and cocoa powder in the background, impressions of sweet Sherry wine and cherry wine\liquor; restrained barrel character but I did manage to pull out spicy and woody notes from the barrels, whiskey is
very subtle
TASTE: soft carbonation with slightly creamy feel, medium body, slightly syrupy and slick mouthfeel; medium light sweet onset of toasted sugars, caramel candy, butterscotch, sweet bread crust with some bitter notes on the edges, a way less dried fruits on the palate as suggested in the aroma, notes of raisins and dates; soft bitterness, notes of cocoa powder and chocolate, dry wood - barrels, no tannins, soft spicy alcohol adds complexity, not hot or boozy, hints of cherry, hard to pinpoint the whiskey
OVERALL: beautiful and spot on aroma, pleasant mouthfeel for BA porter; lacks in barrel character but that is my only criticism; very drinkable for abv

Can. Deep dark Brown color. Caramel, spices (Cinnamon, nutmeg) in the aroma. Malty sweet, caramelly, spicy flavor, hiding the obvious whisky notes somewhat. Top many spices.

33cl Can from Vonk, enjoyed in the cinema. Black colour, beige head. Aroma is sweet, spicy, cinnamon, clove, gingerbread, roasted malts, hint of whisky, wood. Flavour follows, sweet and spicy, gingerbread, light whisky notes, bittersweet finish. Medium bodied. Pleasant drink.

0.33 l can from 'Ace Drinks', best before February 2022. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, spicy and slightly fruity aroma of dark chocolate, praline, licorice root, cinnamon, orange peel and some whisky. Quite sweet, malty, moderately roasty, quite spicy and a bit fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice root, cinnamon, orange peel and some whisky, followed by a long, fairly bitter, gently roasty, quite spicy and minimally boozy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Fairly intense and heavy on the spices, the whisky hardly comes through, would be a nice Christmas beer. I still like it a lot but some more aging could be worth it.
