Can at home in Hackney - picked up from BS online. Pours an attractive, clear honey-ruby with a lasting, frothy off-white topping. Medium sweet flavour with rich, toasted malts, caramel, ripening citrus fruits, melon, pine. Medium to full bodied, lightly oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Mellow warmth to finish, further citrusy notes, hearty resinous pine, toasted malts, pale grain, dry caramel. Delicious stuff. Nails the throwback US BW style.

Can. An almost clear one deep golden in color, with a nice looking white head. The aroma has lots of hops, pine cones, resin and grapefruit, with a good maltiness. Toffee, bread. It's full bodied, lightly warming and softly carbonated, with a heavy but nice bitterness. The flavor has bread, toffee and some lightly roasted malts. Lots of hoppy flavors, pine cones and citrus zest. Everlasting finish. Delicious, especially the bitterness. 240418

Craft Beer Junction bottleshare. Thanks to Dan the Man for the Can. Just a light haze on this orange amber beer, small cream colour head. Airy palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Airy caramel and cream malts. Decent hoppage, as in ripe orange and marmalade. Goes with with the malts. Light dry finish. Old school but none the worse for that.

Can. Burning Sky online, I think. Clear deep amber. Thin and messy, but nicely dense, lasting off white foam. Lovely piny floral hoppage on top of massively sturdy sweet rich grain. Taste reflects that, but with the sweetness coming first and the resin hoppage later. Slick and a little bit chewy. Unreal drinkability. Fine carbonation. Punchy bitterness to finish. Outstanding.

Can picked up at Kihoskh and drunk at home (12/02/2023) - dark amber to brown with a beige head. Toasted sweet malty with lots of toffee and caramel sweetness, brown sugar, honey, dried fruit shred, hoppy undertones, medium plus body, spiced warming malty boozy finish. Very nice barleywine.
