Draught at Zum Simonbräu, Bitburg, beside the brewery, accompanying some nice tomato soup while on our way to Luxembourg. It pours amber to orange, cloudy, with a short-lasting, sticky, tan head. Aroma is really low: a hint of bread, a tinge of dried apricots, a trace of roasted almond. Surprisingly, it displays a full body in the mouth. Otherwise it is fizzy, metallic, lacking bitterness and lasting close to zero. Bah.

bottle from local Rewe. Hazy orange golden with a tal, quickly collapsing off-white head. Malty nose. Light-bodied, malty base with hints of caramel, decent herbal hops with a touch of hay and a shy yeasty fruity hint in the far disctance. Quite nice, much better than expected.

Smooth malty beginning. Round and malty, dry with a bit of cellar and dust. Sessionable but not too deep. The yeast is not too easy to drink or smooth, very dusty with a grainy back.

Fläschchen: Hazy, copper coloured, small but stable creamy off-white head; traces of burnt malt and vegetables in the sweet fruity and mildly malty nose, faint grassy bitterness underneath; mild sweetish-bitter flavour, quite light bodied, neither soft nor fizzy; slightly lingering malty-grainy and fruity finish with a slight bitterness in the aftertaste. NO, NO...

Sampled from 0.5 l bottle from local 'trinkgut', best before October 2018. Hazy, golden amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, slightly grassy-spicy and a little dusty aroma of grains, straw and a touch of honey. Quite sweet, slightly bitter, a bit grassy-spicy taste of caramel, honey, straw and grains, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly grassy-spicy and a bit dusty finish. Almost medium-bodied, slightly smooth and a bit effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Easily drinkable, yet rather tame and only little remarkable, quite unnecessary.
