Bottle shared with Chris in NYC. Pours hazy, brown-gold with a very weak, white foam head. Very mild malt nose, light tartness, hints of berries. Light to medium sweet, some cheap raspberry, doughy sugars. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, some alcohol, raspberry, doughy and bready malts. It’s really not fantastic beer.

Bottle. Funky musty and very light berry aroma Hazy straw color with a small off-white head. Sweet raspberry, corn syrup, and light yeasty flavor. Medium to full body. Passable as a fruit beer... saison? I think not.

Chunky, super hazy golden honey coloured body with a rich, three centimetre tall tan head - looks amazing. Aroma of light malt, caster sugar, a touch of yeast, some cardboard and perhaps a hint of raspberries or other very light fruits. Medium-bodied; Strong yeast flavour at first with a heavy hit of alcohol and a definite and rather potent raspberry flavour with some apples and pears in the mix. Aftertaste shows a lot of alcohol, some malty and metallic bitterness and a heavy does of raspberry sweetness. Overall, an unassuming beer that hits all the right notes decently, but leaves a long lingering alcohol flavour tucked with the malty bitterness while not offering airy or herbal notes that the saison part of this beer should be bringing. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 02-July-2012 for US$2.00 sampled at home in Washington on 28-August-2012.

tap at Dash In - Pours hazy yellow with a small lingering head. It smells fruity, yeasty, and slightly funky. The flavor has sweet raspberries that aren’t too strong and a good saison character that leads into a dry finish. I was quite impressed by this beer. I had mediocre expectations and delivered much more. I think it’s underrated.

12 oz. bottle, $2 @ Ray’s, Wauwautosa. First thing I notice is that at least there’s no pink raspberry ting.Just a golden color body, maybe with a hint of blush. Smells decently malty, with some saison spice more prevalent than a raspberry nose. At first taste, I’d like to think it’s a bit better than others have painted it. Easy drinking, some recognizable saison body and raspberry that doesn’t make me want to brush and floss right away. But it does not hold up too well. Leaves some sticky aftertaste at the back of my mouth that does not sit well. And maybe the hop choice does not work with this kind of beer.Brewer seems to have just strayed too far from their comfort zone.
