Corked bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver, bottled 10/11/2021, 2.5 years ago
Blond colour, more cloudy than hazy, with small but persistent head. Powerful aroma, funky, horseblanket, sour fruits. Bone dry, and highly carbonated; strong funky character, the acidity is moderate, there's some orange peel character too, and mild astringency in the finish. Not extrememly complex, but with nice funky character.

Bottle. Pours lightly hazy golden, large creamy white head that dissipates slowly and leaves nice lacing behind. Aroma is classic gauze, excellent barnyard and yeasty notes, citrus, dust, oak. Favor is light tart, light plus funk. Light soft body. Excellent.

Bottle shared in London - cheers to Dan. Pours lightly hazed gold with a dense, creamy white head. Lightly sweet with pleasant pale wood, soft grass, tangerine, light funk. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Clean finish, bone dry, more mellow dried citrus, pale wood. Super sound.

Bottle shared at craft beer junction bermondsey tasting. Many thanks to Daniel. A mostly clear brushed gold coloured pour with a halo of white head. Aroma is green onion, horsy funk, grass, dusty,. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, lemon rind, pithy, horsey funk, farmyard, zippy citrus, salty lick. Palate is super crisp, pithy, highish fizzy. Drying finish.

After removing the cage the bottle opened itself with a strong ejection of the cork. Pale blond colour with light haze and strong carbonation. This is considerably sharper than their standard Oude Gueuze with notes of lemon and Granny Smith apple. Behind that some drier elements coming from the barrel point towards Fino sherry. Strongly flavoured and with layers of complexity. Adding some of the bottle yeast gives a touch of funk too.

Bottle @ home. Slightly unclear golden body under a fine white head. Nice, smooth funky aroma of pale malt, apple cider, citric fruits, grapes and mild wood. Taste is amazingly smooth with malt, apple cider, citric fruit, mild lemon, grapes, wood, cellear notes, mild funk and some bitterness. Fine body with long lasting, smooth, tart finish. A really nice, complex, smooth and refreshing geuze. From parallel tasting of 135- and 140-years edition. Not a big difference really when sampled in 2023. Both are amazing.
