Heidenpeters Black IPA, 6,5 %, Fläschchen von Getränkefeinkost, Berlin. - Schwarzbraun, sparsamer dunkler Schaum. 17-02-21 // 330ml bottle. Roast forward BIPA. A little too low carbonation for me. Mild hop aromas indicating some fruit notes. Roast and hop bitterness balanced and well present. Really nice.

Sampled as Black IPA, 6.5% ABV Thick, fluffy light-tan head over deep dark brown beer; shards of lace. Dry, with a hint of cane sugar sweetness. Herbs, rather dry, dry hops, hopoil. Dry, some liquorice without sweetness. Finish returns to ultra-dry, black chocolate-like flavours. Dry as few, just a little malt backthroat. Well-carbonated, medium bodied. Other hops (than C-)? More severe than most black IPA's. Thanks to Joren; purchased @ GeFeKo Berlin)

Almost black with a creamy, sticky, beige head. Aroma of roasted dark chocolate, coffee, lemony cleaning agent. Taste surprisingly empty up front, but finishes with a twist, going roasted bitter at the middle with an off-note of plastic amidst the surging pine flavors, and finishing with a soft, unexpected toffee sweetness. Body is to the heavy side of medium, texture sticky and oily. Flawed but it’s a hard style. Still a fun one.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Roast and lemon in the aroma. Malty yet dry roasty flavor with lemon. Pleasant: a surprising thirst quencher.

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 21.05.2019
Aroma is a bit odd and floury with mild licorice tones. Flavour has ash, licorice and mild pot coffee. Finishes with some nettle-like and grapefruity hops. Unusual, a BIPA on the malty side. Nothing much.
