Bourbon barrel-aged salted peanut imperial stout 13.3%
Last year, Amundsen (Oslo) visited us and we put a velvety imperial stout into freshly emptied bourbon barrels. After 14 months, we pulled the beer and added over a quarter-tonne of peanuts. A touch of salt provides the perfect balance to the sweet and savory roasted-nut flavor, while the bourbon gives finishing notes of vanilla, oak and caramel.

Pours black, no real head. Scent is full, roasty, peanut butter, chocolate. Taste is very full, sweet, intense, roasty, chocolate, borubon. Thick. Lovely, as expected, and clearly showing all the flavors that are to be expected, but doesn't surpass expectations, which is a problem to me - at this pricepoint it should be more than just a sum of it's parts.

Tap at the Garden as Lervig Bourbon PB Stout lol. Almost pitch black body, no head. Huge chocolate and peanut butter aroma, sweetish, soft, light alcohol. Soft, slick, oily, bit heavy taste, chocolate, peanut butter, barrel notes, quite heavy and a bit alcoholic in the finish. Nice, but just under the top class of these things, or too heavy for the weather, just didn't click with me.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is huge bourbon, vanilla, caramel, hint of coconut, chocolate, taste is similar, warming, rich, light blackberry, salty, nutty in the finish. Pretty great.

Tap at TCBW. Opaque colour, no head. Strong toasted salted peanut aroma. Full-bodied. Sweet but only beer so far where salted peanuts are so there. Great, suprise.

Tap at TCBW2022, Tallinn. Color is very dark brown with small head. Aromas and flavors: Salt, peanuts, chocolate, roasted malts...strange but pretty good.
