Bottle shared in Canary Wharf. Cheers! Pours clear dark gold with a creamy white head. Medium to big sweet flavour, nice ripening fruits, barrel, a little smoke, berries, booze. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, more woody notes, leather, faint berries. Tasty.

Bottle from HoTM perhaps? It pours clear mahogany brown with a quickly dissipating fizzy khaki head. The aroma is pretty intoxicating, quite jammy, fruity, tangy berry, sherry vibes, touch of vanilla fudge, Scottish tablet, dried fruits, fruit cake, victoria sponge cake, light umami, liquorice and booze soaked oak. The taste is bitter - sweet, juicy, jammy, red grape, berry, definite sherry character, cacao, chocolate, nuttiness, touch of black forest gateaux, vinous, some warming fruity whisky, damp oak, toffee, vanilla, toasty malts and brown bread with a slick finish. Medium+ body, fine carbonation and slick mouth feel. Nice interplay of barley wine - whisky - fruity sherry. Dangerously drinkable.
