Cette série de Meerts Tilquin a été obtenue par la fermentation de fruits ayant déjà été utilisés une fois. Les fruits ont fermenté pour une durée de 4 mois dans un assemblage de 80% de Meerts de 1 an et 20% d’un assemblage de différents lambics de 2 ans. Le Meerts (ou Bière de Mars) est un lambic léger en alcool, qui était à l’origine produit grâce au mout plus faible obtenu lors du rinçage des drèches. Non filtrés et non pasteurisés, ils sont refermentés en bouteille.

Bottle from the 'Meerts' box, from Hopduvel. Hazy golden, thin, white head. Aroma of unripe peach, white grape, sour white wine, wet oak, gooseberry, young cheese, hay. Taste has sour white grape, peach pit and gooseberry along with a lemon-acidic element in a sourdough-like malt body surrounded by funky hay and cheese. Very tart finish, offering lots of sour grape, grape skin and green apple, funky & tannic wood, vague grassy hops and a white wine effect (without the alcohol). Medium body, moussy texture, average carbonation. Excellent blend of Lambic & fruit, the perfect apéritif; perhaps slightly less impressive than the Riesling version.

Bottle: Poured a dark golden color lambic with a small foamy head with limited retention and no lacing. Aroma of funky ester with some tart notes and light vinous notes with faint residual sugar notes are also perceptible. Taste is also a mix of funky esther with some tart notes and light vinous notes with no noticeable acidity. Body is about average with limited carbonation. More complex than I was expecting with nice grape flavors and a vinous feel and slightly more sweet than their other offerings.

Bottle. Very clear. Again lots of bright funk, mineral notes, wheat. Light zesty and with a touch if spicy grapes. Solid medium sour. Not a lot of grapes but very tasty, I love it.

375ml bottle. Soft, smooth and slightly tart with loads of vinous grapes, some funky farmyardy notes, mild sourness and earthiness. Quite balanced.

Bottle. From a pop up shop opposite the Loon Factory. Mostly clear pale gold. Slim ring of white. This set are so thin. I mean that’s what you’d maybe expect given the production method but it’s not doing it for me. Watery grape and milky funk. Not bothered.

375ml bottle from Radbeer. It pours clear pale blonde with a fluffy white head. The aroma is vibrant, zingy, sweet German white wine, white grape, gooseberry, fruit salad sweets, fizzy candy, sherbet, tangfastics, refreshers, dry oak, deep funk and farmyard. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, firm and funky, musty, damp basement, dry oak, nip of acidity, quite vibrant, vinous, tart white grape, gooseberry, white currant, sherbet, fizzy cola bottles, refreshers, barnyard, hay and straw with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Vibrant, fruity and vinous with some deep funk. Lovely stuff.

Almost clear, bright yellow. Light, fruity, sour, dry. Green grapes, citrus, grassy florals, a bit of yeasty funk. Medium acidity but smooth, very refreshing. Very nice.

BB 03.05.2031. yellow cloudy color, small white head. smells funky, salty, earthy, light cheesy, lightly vinous, light tannins, light stone fruits. very nice smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes funky, vinous, citric, grassy, salty, earthy, some stone fruits. finishes lightly dry and lightly sour with notes of stone fruits, salt and vinous notes. lovely. nice complexity. like most of the other variants quite a bit of salt noticeable.
