Vi presentiamo la seconda creazione uscita dalla nostra cantina, questa volta la Papanero è stata impreziosita da un passaggio di 9 mesi in botti ex Cognac XO che le hanno regalato una nuova veste. Carbonazione quasi assente , schiuma inesistente, più simile ad un vino liquoroso più che ad una birra : sontuosa, elegante e complessa.

--Sample, thanks oh6gdx! -- Pitch black, no head. Generous aroma of dark chocolate with a touch of brandy. Mid sweet with full body and dense, rounded mouthfeel. Quality chocolate, warming brandy and notes of caramel. Warming finish with evident cognac.

[ As Ritual Lab Papanero Barrel Aged Series - Aged in Cognac XO Barrel ].
ABV: 12.5%. Dark dark black brown colour with a small, frothy - fizzy and open, good - fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, barrel, sweet malt, cognac, moderate chocolate and coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, dried fruit, dark fruit, barrel, cognac, chocolate - coffee - roasted, caramel - sweet malt, soft, rich. Body is medium to heavy, texture is creamy to watery, carbonation is soft to flat, finsh feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20230304]

0.33 l bottle thanks to Lara and Jadran who brought it from Italy. Dark brown, small beige head. Cherry, berry, cognac present, some oak, some caramel, alcohol. A touch of butter, dried fruit, plum brandy, cherry brandy. A bit too alcoholic on the nose, but very soft otherwise. Vanilla, nuts, oak nad cocoa in the flavour. Medium body, very easy going. Quite unique. Good barrel aging example.

Bottled (from Alko web). Black colour with a small beigeish brown head. Aroma is nutty, some liquorice, chocolate, mild almonds and some slight toffee tones. Flavour is toffee, some toasted notes, mild liquorice with some alcohol and mild chocolaty tones. Rather sweet, but luckily alcohol isn't very attacking here.

Borefts XII Day 2. Assuming this is the Cognac version. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth slightly thin dark malts, good dark chocolate and a little dark malt cream. Dry wood undertone into a fairly mellow but fruity Cognac treatment. Light semi finish. Nice BA treatment.

Tap. Black color with beige head. Aroma is a bit buttery, chocolate, wood, not so much cognac for me. Taste is the same. Thicc mouthfeel, low carbonation. Solid, but not the best.
