Top-fermented wheat beer with stable, high foam. Brewed traditionally from fresh Bavarian yeast, this beer is not too bitter. Experience exceptional aromas with gentle tones of clove and banana. Our wheat beer is nonfiltered and hopped three times with Czech hops.

Murky yellow coloured, medium to big white head, acidic wheaty nose. Malty, light wheaty and spicy with notes of caramel and banana. Touch of cloves in bready finish. Easy drinkable but a bit watery. 5.0%

Only few breweries in the Czech Republic brew German style Hefeweizen. Large head, amber colour. There is a flavour reminiscent of apples, which I find remarkable. Yeasty and malty with dry and well-hopped finish.

Bottle
Cloudy yellow, big foamy white head. Very interresting aroma: Estery apricot, light sourdough and cloves. Flavor along the same lines - slightly wooden and dusty, but the fruityness prevails. Relatively light body and with a sparkly carbonation on the palate. I think with this beer freshness is everything, and this bottle came straight from the source thanks to Pivnizub. Danke Günther!

Bottle. Sour stale wheat malt aroma. Cloudy orange-yellow with moderate but quickly collapsing head. Sour stale wheat malt flavor primarily - slight vinegar and banana flavors as well. Probably quite a bit better when fresh. A bit below average when compared to the style as a whole but not too bad - a rare beer style for Czech.

Bottle (bought at the brewery): Hazy, yellow to orange coloured, mid-sized quite firm head; typical fruity nose: bananas, traces of cloves, yeast, lemons; dry sourness in the beginning; mostly devoid of sweet-sour complexity; finally dry with a tinge of tatr bitterness. Well done, but no "super-wheat".

Sampler from bottle at Binny’s, Orland Parh, So, a slightly different version of a weizen, eh? Well, this does have a weizen taste as a base, that is, a slight ’nanner and clove aspect. But very nice and light. Smoothed out by a good lagering period. Well worth a shout out.

(swing top bottle) Hazy orange-gold colour with a big rocky white head. Dusty banana fruity nose with cloves and yeasts. Light to medium body, fizzy carbonation. Malty banana taste with a fruity and clove spicy palate. Clean and well-made Weizen from Czechia.

500 ml bottle, bought at Pivni Galerie, Prague. Label says " Herold hefeweizen Bohemian Wheat Lager Kvasnicové psenícné pivo - kvasnícový svetlý lezák 12 degrees plato unfiltered blond lager ABV 5.1%". So is this a "real" hefeweizen (which I thought were technically ales?), or is it a wheat lager with hefeweizen yeast added in the bottle? Or am I asking stupid questions? Anyway, the beer is "murky golden" with a large to moderate head. Aroma is fairly sweet and fruity (blackberries/brambles, blackcurrants?) with hints of sheepshed and old leather. Lagerish elements. Some cloves too, but not as strong as with most German hefeweizens. Flavour is a strange combination of a typical premium lager and a typical hefeweizen. Moderately spicy. Dusty finish. Not bad.

Murky orange body, mostly lasting, white creamy-fizzy head. Fair lace. Flowers/Perfume aroma. Moderately sweet, ligthly bitter initial flavour. Lightly sweet, ligthly bitter (averagily long) finish. Light to medium body. Soft carbonation.

Light gold. Smokey phenols - I know I love smoke but I'm still amazed at how much I love a hint of these in a weizen. Light banana in the aroma turns to big, sweet banana in the palate.
