75cl Fles van Vomar. Donkerbruine kleur, beige kraag. Moutig, medium zoet, donker fruit, vijgen, kruidig, caramel, flink droppig qua smaak, eikenhout, bitterzoete finish. Volle body. Lekker.

Dark brown colour with lasting thin head. Intense malt aroma, raisins and dark caramel. Dried fruit taste with a bitterness of burnt caramel. Has a Cognac note to it.

I have a 750 ml bottle that was acquired from Finest Belgian, rating 1700 for me, just saying. I believe the base version of the quad is a really fine beer, looking forward to seeing what the oaked version is like. The cage is removed and the cork almost comes out at the same time with great vigor. Be forewarned. This sampling gets my best glass for quadrupels from Trappistes Rochefort. The delivery is a rich mahogany brown with a bare presence of light tan foam. There is also a steady stream of bubbles rising from the bottom, a good sign I think. I smell plenty of ripe dark fruit along with grain, yeast and candi sugar. But on to the payoff, the drink. I have to say this is good, not great however. The oak is noticeable immediately and there is dates, leather, a touch of caramel, malt and bread too.To me, the wood is a bit much unfortunately.

750 ml corked & caged bottle, as St Feuillien Oaked Quadruple, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 11%. Deep brown colour, large beige head. Aroma of malts, dark sugar, dark dried fruits and anise, a hint of sweat. Fizzy mouthfeel. Sweet flavour, malts and dark sugar again, not very spicy, low bitterness, moderate notes of oak. Not bad, but cannot compete with the best trappists.

750 ml bottle. Pours a dark orange/brown with light head. Aromas of oak, candi sugar, raisins and bready malts with a little christmas spice. Flavors of ollow same with more oak initially coming through, followed by the standard quad flavors. Warm finish. Very good. Definitely a beer for the cellar. Will have to try with some age...

Huge pinkish-cream head over fully hazy deep red to brown beer. Chocolate, wood, kafir lime, very strange nose. Little or no more kafir lime flavour orally, instead a weyish-sweet flavour with an acidity as from shifting milk. Some sweet chocolate, bit flavour as from bees' wax. Well-bodied, alcoholwarming, well-carbonated. Not really great, seen the possibilities herein. Txs to Stef!

Pale Amber brown. Not much head. Quite phenolic, sultana, date, thin in the finish, some alcohol, a bit fruity, apple and pears, then more in the date mode. I sense that the oak is the source of dryness here.

dark amber colour with reddish hue, huge, dense and long lasting beige-ish head; aroma of dried sour cherry, prune, raisins soaked into alcohol, some dark chocolate, woody and slight vanilla notes; taste of unripe plum, dark chocolate, dried sour cherry, raisins, some acetone, woody and quite intensive alcoholic notes; good one, though I am not really amazed

Poured from 750mL bottle @ Weathered 2023. Clear amber with small beige head. Dark dried fruits, oaky, molasses, Belgian yeast. Quite nice.
