440ml can. Pours pitch black, large beige head. Aroma is roasty with dusty chocolate. Taste is quite nicely balanced, some nice milk chocolate, gentle dusty roast, some nice vanilla, caramel and lactose, not too much, very nicely integrated with great drinkability for 11%. Great stuff.

Can, from the brewery online shop. Pours a clear, deep chestnut brown. Sits dark in the glass, with a thin, leggy, semi lacing, tan head. Nose has steeped vine fruit. Cocoa. Chocolate cake batter. Taste is semi sweet and lightly vinous. Some dark chocolate bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel belies the big ABV. Fine carbonation. Lingering bitterness to finish. Very nice impy, although I’m not sure the commercial description has done it any favours. Wasn’t really getting the pastry vibe, to be honest.
