Bottle enjoyed by the traditional midsummer bonfire on the beautiful Kjerringy, Norway under the midtnight sun. Vintage 2007. Has a hazy brownish amber colour with small yellowish head. Flavours of leather, wood, licorice and caramel. A nice balanced flavour with a fantastic sweet taste along with liqueur, more dried fruit, leather, pine and some alcohol. Rich and soft mouthfeel, and a light bitterness. This was a really good barley wine!

En liten goding. Doftar syrligt och av vanilj. Smak av fikon, karamell, honung. Söt och med en tydlig beska.

40 cl. bottle from IRMA-supermarket. Poured in to a snifter. Murky, red-brown colour with a small, fast fading white head. "Big beer" aroma with caramel malts, lots of resin hops, blue cheese-style yeasts and a bit tingling in the nose from the alcohol. Taste is medium sweet, also has an aged, oak note to it. Full body with a thick feel, flat carbonation. Long lasting complex finish with somewhat sour cherries (!), caramel malts, oak and resin hops. A good BW from Nørrebro, one of their best brews.

Bottle sample at beerandbeyond farewell tasting at Dagan’s place. Thanks avrashi. Murky reddish brown. Aroma of malt, dark fruits, vinous and oaky notes and alcohol. Sweet malty flavor with caramel, cookies, dark fruits, light sourish notes, wood, vinous notes and alcohol in the finish. Full-bodied. Interesting but too boozy.

Tap at Nørrebro. It pours deep ruby, with a thin beige head. The nose is sweet, wood, vinous notes, almond, vanilla, marzipan, toast and jam. The taste is vinous, berry, fig, date, prune, plum, spice, red grape, wood, leather, jam, marzipan, varnish and booze, with a warming finish. Full body, fine carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Well balanced and indulgent. A delicious barley wine.

Draught @ Brewpub

2007 vintage - Pours dark red with a sticky bubbly and foamy head. Strong malty and wooden aroma with notes of oak, vanilla, and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet and malty with wooden and dark fruity notes. Finish is malty with notes of syrup and dark fruits. Nice, but perhaps slightly too sweet for my taste.

Bottle. Pours hazy brown, with a nice creamy head. Aroma is a nice roasted malt, with a good sweet touch of caramel. Flavour is quite dark, with plums and figs, some coffee notes and a quite marked oakiness. Fabulous finish, that lasts forever.

En flaska från 2008. En fyllig, kraftig och värmande barley wine på dryga 12%. Torkad frukt med fikon i täten, karamell, honung och kryddiga toner av saffran, kardemumma och kanel. Riktigt gott. Bland de bästa BWW jag druckit.

2006 Vintage Bottle - 1st beer of 2012. Pours muddy brown with tan head. Nose/taste of dried fruit, caramel, toffee, molasses, brown sugar, maple and raisin. Sweet and complex. Full mouth feel. Lightly chalky in the finish. Held up incredibly well.
