Sample from 50 cl. bottle Pitch black with a small, creamy tanned head. Roasted aroma with caramel malts, coffee, chocolate, liquorice and dark berries. Some vanilla. Taste is bitter. Full body with an oily texture and near flat carbonation. Bitter, roasted finish with liquorice. Excellent despite the age.

8th May 2010. Copenhagen Beer Festival. Cloudy dark brown beer. No head. Light palate - a little dry. Some chocolate and a dash of spice. Surprisingly simple for a multi ingredient big beer but it’s decent!

CBF 2009. Piratos: Lakrids - let saltet, chocolate. Black, light brown ring on top. Delicious licorice, chocolate, dry, hides strength initially, vineous afterwards. Creamy light sparkly mouthfeel. Chocolate retronasal. Quite a swansong...

Bottle at Københavnske Øldage 2009
Black color. The aroma is a bit dusty and with chocolate. It has a good body strength, good chocolate flavor and very nice coffee touch; but it also has too much alcohol.
