Bottle from Base Camp. Golden body, white head. Herbal, floral, slightly fruity-citric even hoppy aroma, nice! Lean, dry, bit minerally taste, grainy, bit rough maltiness, herbal hoppiness, Pilsnerish by all means, but not charmed by teh taste.

Gold with a frothy, white head. Typical pils aroma: grassy, grainy, metallic. Pleasant, crisp, bitter taste the whole way through. Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation. Refreshing. Decent.

500 ml bottle. Unclear light golden, fluffy head. Grassy citrus hops, grain, hay, straw, slightly metallic. Hoppy bitterness, light malty sweetness. Medium bodied, oily texture, lively carbonated, dry hoppy bitter finish. Good!

Bottle. Blonde. Soft grassy aroma. Malty, grassy, soft hopbitter flavor. Butter and grass in the aftertaste. Decent pilsener.

Braubeviale 2018. Golden color with medium white head. Aroma of malt, bitter hops. Taste, the same with light diacetyl in finish. Drinkable beer.

Tap @ Meinel Braü, Hof. Pours clear pale yellow with a white head. Grass, dough, bread and grains. Faint citrus hop. Dry and crisp. Superb!

Gravity keg at Fass&Cask in Rome-Italy. No description of the appearance, served in a ceramic glass. Nose: rustic, milled barley, chicken farm. Mouth: bread, the bitterness is there a bit too shy and mild, peppery finish and again rustic maltiness. Liked it! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Meinel-Bräu Classic Pils, Flasche von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin. - Goldgelb, klar; üppige Schaumkrone. - In der Nase flache Malzsüße, milde grasige Hopfennoten, stumpfe Hopfenextrakt-Töne. - Im Antrunk etwas zu prominente Malzsüße, stumpf grasige Hopfenherbe, aber auch schöne Zitronenöl-Noten. Etwas milder rezent als üblich. Im Abgang wenig aromatische, etwas schroff grasige Herbe vom Hopfenextrakt. Unschön stumpf-bitterer, trockener Nachtrunk. - Kein Klassiker, nur ein zweitklassiges Pils. Könnte wesentlich besser sein, wenn es nicht vom Hopfenextrakt verdorben würde. (14.8.2015: 2,6.)
Neuverkostung, Flasche von ebendort. - Das Classic Pils vom Meinel-Bräu heißt jetzt nur noch Pils, ist aber mit einiger Sicherheit das gleiche Bier wie früher (laut Etikett gebraut seit 120 Jahren). - Goldgelb, fast klar; üppige Schaumkrone. - In der Nase feine Hopfenaromen, elegante Zitrone, etwas Gras und schöne helle Malzsüße. - Im Antrunk weiche helle Malzsüße, die durch unerwartet milde Hopfung mehr Prominenz erlangt als ihr zusteht. Wie durch einen Schleier schmecke ich milden grasigen und zitronigen Hopfen. Durchschnittlich rezent, nicht gerade schlank. Im Abgang blasse grasige Herbe. Schwacher Nachtrunk. - Meine obige Bewertung muß ich nur leicht revidieren: Kein Klassiker, nur ein zu knapp gehopftes fränkisches Pils. (21.10.2021.)

Rating from 2005. Herb-frisches Pils, aber vom Körper her etwas laff. Nett. --> 8
