Backlog February 2009. Pale golden body under a fine, dense, off-white head. Aroma is fruity, a bit floral and hint of dry fruit. Taste is refreshing fruity with some bitterness. Light in body and a bit short in aftertaste. Drinkable but not impressive.

Bottle, gift from Eduard Morshuis. Blonde with the tiniest chunks of yeast floating. Fruity (mango) aroma. Mangoin the flavor, but also some hops, although the fruit rules. Fruit aftertaste. Almost powdery mouthfeel. A touch medecinal.

Converting ticks to ratings. Had this early 2000's, at Café Gollem. Slightly spicy golden ale from what I remember, I see it's listed as a Pale Lager here. Well, wasn't really impressed with this.

One of Slaghmuylder’s charmingly old-fashioned beers, from a time when pale lager conquered Belgium. In fact, this was the first Belgian Easter beer ever, and remained the only Belgian Easter lager since. Very much like Slaghmuylder’s Kerstbier, but the sample I tasted, was unfiltered and had more yeasty notes because of that. And like the Kerstbier, I regard this as one of the better Belgian lagers.

Tasted at the 2007 Zythos fest. Light blonde, this beer is classed as a Czech Pilsner on BA, which I suppose isn’t far wrong. A slight hazy body under a thin white head. Yeast and some malt flavours can be detected in the aroma, but no overpowering smell. Clean, even though cloudy in appearance and fairly crisp, a bit sweet and yeasty. Hops and yeast aftertaste. I would have another.

Draft at De Heeren van Liedekercke. Hazy dark pink color, off white head. Aroma of plums, raisins, cherries, green apples. Taste is sour applesauce and red plums. Definitley not a pale lager, but also not an Easter beer. Tasty anyway, regardless of what it is.

Cloudy yellow to ocher coloured beer, white thick head with big bubbles in it. Aroma: quinces (yes!), yeast, fruity, bready, rotten fruit. MF: ok carbon, medium body, bit watery texture. Taste: citrus fruits, quinces, a little malt. Very unpleasant tart finish and hops. This beer is a bit off, or at least I hope so. Calls for a re-rating. Best before dates seems to be expired 6 months (thank you beer shop!).

Bottle picked up at Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgium, June 2010 consumed 24-07-10 Pours light gold (bit dull in appearance) with a white head. The aroma is a tiny bit sour and fruity. This is soft in the mouth and a little rough if truth be known most unlike a Belgian, some spice and fruit but there was nothing here to rescue what is ultimately a well below average beer.
