When the loveable "hopheads" at Humpy’s Great Alaskan Alehouse requested a winter version of alehouse favorite Sockeye Red IPA, our brewers instinctively spawned CoHoHo Imperial IPA.
CoHoHo begins with generous measures of pale two-row and specialty malts along with spirit-boosters like brown sugar and honey. Hefty doses of Cascade, Centennial and Simcoe hops beautifully balance that outrageous malt bill while juniper berries heighten the festive character of this exuberant beer.

22 oz. bottle, split with manuchampions, pours amber / copper with a beige head. Aroma of caramel malts and piney hops. Flavour is different than expected, with quite a bit of sweetness.

On tap at Pizza Port San Clemente’s Hoptoberfest. Pours with an amber-bronze body with a large off-white head. Aroma of brown sugar, hops, grass, juniper, bandaid and tar. Flavors are juniper, very malty, pine, tar and brown sugar. Lively bubbles, pretty sweet. Odd beer.

Shipped to me by my wife on a trip to Portland. Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark red-brown color with a huge tan head that lingered and produced great lacing . The aroma was sweet pineapple, pine, resin, lemon, orange and caramel. The flavor was pineapple, pine, brown sugar, caramel and apple with a tart and moderately bitter base. The finish long, sweet and tangy with pineapple upsidedown cake, apple pie and cocoa lingering. Thick and full bodied. Incredible

22 ounce bottle courtesy of riversideAK. Thanks! Shared at the 11th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering, 4/17/10. Pours a clear reddish amber colored head with a medium offwhite head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of peppery, herbal hops with some malty notes. The taste is big citrus and resiny hops with a lot of caramel in the background. Fairly well balanced. Medium-full bodied. Good beer.

Bottle thanks to Suzygreenberg. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with a lasting thick brown head. Aroma has notes of pine with undertones of brown sugar and just a bit of honey. The flavor matches the aroma nicely with a lot of pine hops in the beginning, but the finish shows some brown sugar and some honey.

22oz bottle from Brewforia
Appearance: Clear dark copper with a nice off-white head that sticks around and tons of lacing in the glass
Aroma: Huge aroma of pine, malts and dark fruits
Taste: Pine resin and bittering in the finish
This is an awesome IIPA. Very well balanced with the hops and malts. I really enjoyed this beer. Wish I had another one.
The rating before this one says it is on tap at the Toronado. I’ll be in SF next week, I’ll make sure I try this on tap and edit this rating with my thoughts.
