The Meerts Tilquin series was made by fermenting fruit that had already been used once. Pinot Gris grapes were fermented for a period of 4 months in a blend of 80% 1 year old Meerts and 20% of a blend of different 2 year old lambics. Meerts (or March Beer) is a low strength lambic, which was originally produced with the weaker wort obtained from the rinsing of the grains. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, they are refermented in the bottle.

Bottle from the Meerts pack, purchased at RadBeer. It pours clear golden - yellow with a quickly dissipating white head. The aroma is bright, zingy, tangy, sherbet, sour candy, soor plooms, ripe white grape, gooseberry, white wine, gay, dry oak and funk. The taste is firmly dry, oak, light tannin, puckering sourness, nip of acidity, fizzy sour candy, sherbet, soor plooms, juicy white grape, white wine, gooseberry, whitecurrant, touch of yellow plum, twist of lime, funk, hay and barnyard with a drying finish. Medium body and light carbonation. Fresh and vibrant. Tasty.

Bottle, 2020-2021. Color: Slightly hazy pale golden, no head. Aroma: White grapes, tart, funky. Taste: Moderate to over moderate tart, fruity white grapes and some berries and citrus, some wood and tannins, Grapeskin. Barnyard funk. Hints of hay. Vinuous and dry mouthfeel, Very dry, astringent at finish.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Beer Merchants. Pours mostly clear yellow with a modest, foamy white head. Fairly sturdy acidity, good salty bite, oak, white wine, lemon, vanilla, faint popcorn, mild sweetness. Medium bodied with spritzy carbonation. Tart and quenching to finish, more refreshing acidity, pale wood, subtle funk, nips of straw and grass, lemony bite. Really nice.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Murky yellow. Funky, manure, citrus, sourish, sweetish note. Very nice and refreshing.

Flaska från Etre. Halmgul, något disig med fizzig vit krona som helt försvinner. Fantastisk doft där lambicen och druvorna är i perfekt harmoni. Smakmässigt väldigt pigg, rejäl syra med smaker mycket på ytan. När syran lagt sig något kommer druvigheten fram, med fin sötma, gula russin, något vinöst.
