Tilquin Myrtille Sauvage - Draft Version - Fruit Extravaganza 21, 22, Gueuzerie Tilquin, 8, 4, 9, 4, 16, 4.1, On tap @RLRL. Clear, dark cherry, still. Nice blueberry skin that's a bit more earthy than I'm used to; faint funk. Tart, but really juicy. Fruit must be plentiful. Follow though has some noticeable oxidation. Lime leaf, bittersweet, mellow but lingering sock funk, low guano, high astringency, love the satisfying sour finish. 29/IV/23 - on tap @ Tilquin English Beer Fest, BB: n/a (2023-382) Thanks to all for sharing today’s beers!

Very cloudy rusty red beer, small creamy off-white to light pink beige head, stable, non adhesive. Aroma: weird, funky, dirty, cheesy, a little floral, a bit weird, some chlorine, don’t like it very much. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sourish start, dry, spicy touch, bitter, some tannins, earthy, meh. Aftertaste: woody, dry, tannins, very sour, lots of vinegar, not a big fan of this one. Strange, cause I really liked all the previous iterations of this beer.

On tap at Meddlesome Moth, pours a cloudy bright dark pinkish red with a small pink head. Aroma brings out muffled blueberry skins and subdued funk. Flavour is tart and funky, with a liver barnyard funk character, accentuated by low-level blueberry skins, and light acidity. Funky, complex and beautifully blended. Could do with more blueberries, but this is great.

Row 34 draught, 11/17/22. Ruddy blueberry, clear, small, pinkish head. Wow that's a lot of Brett and I'm not mad about it. Blueberries creep in on the end adding gentle juiciness, low acidity. No acetic, low lactic, heavy Brett. Tons of horse blanket type character. Juicy Brett gone wild. Yeah, it makes good on the nose and the blueberries add lightly juicy sweetness on the end. Funky, horsey, bright and spectacularly flavorful. Good texture, soft and properly attenuated. Not too acidic, just Brett for days.

Draft: Poured a murky blue-ish color lambic. Aroma of tart notes with some blueberry notes and some light funky tester notes are also perceptible. Taste is also a mix of blueberry notes with some residual sugar notes with some funky ester and tart notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. OK fruited lambic but I was expecting more fruit presence.

(On tap @ Griendel, Quebec City, Sep 29/22) Pours fairly hazy dark red with a small whitish cap and light lace. Aroma of sweetened and lightly jammy blueberry, a little red grape or other red berries, moderate wood and tannic leathery notes, some dusty funk. Flavour is moderately sweet and moderately acidic, prominent blueberry flesh with a little jam, light vinous grapiness, a little lactic acidity, herbal slightly barnyardy old hop funk quality, moderate wood mixed with blueberry skin tannins to give a noticeable drydown in the finish. Medium bodied, fine but filling carbonation. One of the better variants from the series for me, not the punchiest blueberry ever but leaned on its better qualities.

(Keg at Pikkulintu Ruttopuisto, 20220621) The beer poured deep red and cloudy. Its head was small and pink. Aroma had grapes, tartness, wood and bilberries. Palate was medium and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were wood, bilberries, fruitiness, tartness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had bilberries, tartness and bitterness. A rather soft tart brew. Decent.
